An Inspired Chat with Rhonda Madison of South Florida

We recently had the chance to connect with Rhonda Madison and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Rhonda, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
First, the relationship I’ve built with my boys — that bond is my foundation and my greatest accomplishment. I’m also proud that my business is getting back on track and that I’ve learned to move forward by prioritizing myself. I’ve stopped being a people pleaser and instead became a “Rhonda pleaser,” making choices that align with my own growth and peace. Ultimately, I’m proud of how much I’ve poured back into myself and my business, creating a stronger version of both.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Rhonda, and I’m the owner of The ABA Billing Experience™, a company I founded to simplify and transform the way ABA providers handle their billing, credentialing, and revenue cycle management. I’ve been in the medical billing world since 2001, and in 2019, I took the leap to build my own business — a step that not only gave me independence but also allowed me to pour my expertise back into a community that often struggles with the complexities of insurance.

What makes my brand unique is that it’s not just about billing; it’s about education, empowerment, and connection. I create guides, workflows, and training programs that break down the complicated parts of ABA billing into clear, practical steps. I also use platforms like TikTok to make the business side of ABA more approachable and even fun, helping providers see that billing doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

Beyond the business, I’m a mom of two boys, and they are at the heart of everything I do. The resilience and balance I’ve built in my personal life flow directly into how I lead my company. I’ve learned the power of prioritizing myself, letting go of people-pleasing, and becoming unapologetically dedicated to my growth — and that authenticity spills over into my brand.

Right now, I’m focused on expanding resources for providers, from denial-resolution workflows to credentialing guides, so they can spend less time fighting insurance and more time focusing on their clients. My journey has been one of rebuilding and reinvesting in myself and my business, and I believe that’s what truly makes my story special.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
The people who saw me clearly before I could see myself were my real friends — the ones who have consistently poured into me. They kept reassuring me that I already had what it takes; I just needed to believe it and execute. Their support and perspective helped me step into the confidence I have today.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Some of the defining wounds of my life have been deeply personal. Going through a divorce after 13 years of marriage, losing my stepson and walking with my boys through the grief of losing their sibling, losing clients I thought would always be there, and at one point even losing myself. Each of those experiences shook me in different ways, but they also pushed me toward healing.

I’ve leaned on therapy, stepped back from always being “on the scene” and available for everyone, and instead learned to prioritize myself. Most importantly, I’ve leaned on God, my faith, and patience. Those anchors have helped me not just survive those wounds, but grow stronger and more present for both my family and my business.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to building The ABA Billing Experience™ into a million-dollar brand — not just for the financial milestone, but because of the impact it represents. I want to help providers truly understand billing, give them the support they need to succeed, and create resources that take the stress out of dealing with insurance. At the same time, I’m equally committed to becoming the absolute best version of myself. Both the business and the personal growth journey go hand in hand, and no matter how long it takes, I’m dedicated to seeing them through.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What light inside you have you been dimming?
The light I’ve been dimming is my own potential and ability. For too long, fear made me give up before I even started, or kept me stuck in cycles of overthinking instead of moving forward. I’ve realized that I was holding myself back, and now I’m learning to let that light shine without second-guessing it.
