We recently had the chance to connect with Paola Arzola and have shared our conversation below.
Paola, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately I’ve just been feeling Gods presence. Just knowing that whatever I put my mind to ,he will lead and guide the way ! Joy is an understatement.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Paola , the face of yummysweettoothllc. Since my last interview , I have been in elevation mode ! I’ve added a lot of endeavors to my small , yet big business . I’ve hosted pop -up shops , woman’s networking brunches and even shown over 40 people how to make the perfect bubble free candy apple with my hands on courses .
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship I have with my children , they need me and I need them . They get so excited when they see me busy , at home fulfilling party orders and being able to just be able ! They compliment my work and my strive ,So to them I’m like super woman and i love that for me !
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely!! All the staying up late to fulfill a party order , all the days I was confused on what to charge a person , the times when you see others “do the same thing “ you do and the discouragement kicks in -heck even the times where you don’t even wanna spend your own money on buying things because you just paid rent and don’t have it , yes I almost gave up . But looking back until now , all those sleepless weekends just to give a family a smile and memory they will never forget is worth it ! No giving up over here !
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
I wouldn’t say naive or wrong , more selfish . Before i started my candy / treat classes , I didn’t want anyone doing the same as me , why would i want them to make candy apples or do decorations like i do ? Now i would be more than glad to show someone how to make apples , you never know ,maybe the one that I’m showing can help me fulfill a few of my orders and earn some money and clients . Or even start their own business !
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
Besides church , in the kitchen ! Not eating lol but making my party orders , sifting my flour, dipping my berries and apples. Singing along with the music playing .
