We recently had the chance to connect with Natalie Devisse and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Natalie, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I’ve been certified and teaching since 2010, guiding women in fitness and wellness with a foundation in Exercise Science. From the very beginning, I felt a special pull toward helping pregnant women in my classes. With my background, I always knew how to offer safe modifications, but I stopped short of making it my full specialty.
Pregnancy fascinated me, the way a woman’s body transforms to create life is nothing short of miraculous. But it also felt so delicate, and I carried this quiet fear: what if something happened to the mom or baby while they were in my care?
That fear became my fuel. I dove deep into perinatal anatomy, trimester-specific safety, and specialized training. Then, during my own pregnancy, I experienced each stage firsthand, learning just how resilient women’s bodies truly are and how to adapt to every unique need. Around that time, I earned my prenatal yoga teacher certification, building on my perinatal fitness and yoga expertise. That’s when I discovered I could do more than modify movements, I could offer specific practices, poses, and techniques aimed to ease pregnancy symptoms and help prepare women for a better birthing experience, both mentally and physically.
Now, I feel called to fully dedicate myself to this work. Through my Mindfit Mama App, I’ve created a safe, empowering space for women in pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond, helping them listen to their bodies, move with confidence, and feel strong, calm, and deeply connected. What once felt intimidating has become a great passion and purpose.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Natalie Devisse, founder of UNITY, a wellness brand dedicated to helping people live with vitality, longevity, and deep connection through movement and mindfulness.
Under UNITY, I’ve created the Mindfit Mama App—a one-of-a-kind wellness platform designed exclusively for mothers in every stage, from preparing for pregnancy to postpartum recovery and beyond. It blends my Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, certifications in prenatal yoga and perinatal fitness, over 15 years of teaching women in wellness, and my own lived experience as a mother. The result is a mindfulness-first approach that combines safe, stage-specific yoga, functional fitness, breathwork, and meditation to help women feel strong, calm, and deeply connected from the inside out.
Through UNITY, I also lead retreats, events and wellness programs that bring people together in meaningful, energizing ways. Right now, my focus is on expanding the Mindfit Mama App—growing our programs, building a supportive global community, and giving mothers the tools they need to thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
The moment that most shaped how I see the world was giving birth to my daughter. It completely transformed my perspective—suddenly, what truly mattered in life became crystal clear. I realized how precious my time and energy are, and how deeply I wanted to live with intention.
Birth itself is such a profound paradox. It’s raw and wild, grounding you in nature, yet it’s also euphoric—like stepping into an entirely new dimension of awareness. In that moment, my purpose expanded beyond myself. I wanted to be present for her, but also to create something meaningful that would serve other women too.
Motherhood showed me that we as women are capable of doing incredibly hard things, and it inspired me to build tools of strength, grace, and mindfulness that other mothers could carry with them. That moment of birth gave me a new way of seeing the world: life is about giving back, being fully present, and creating something that will ripple far beyond your own story.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me how to appreciate things in a way success never could. Success often feels like forward motion—achievements, milestones, celebrations—but suffering slows you down and forces you to truly see what matters. When something as essential as peace is missing, you begin to understand just how precious it is. That contrast gave me a deeper gratitude for the simple, everyday things I once overlooked. Success excites you, but suffering humbles you—and in that humility, I found not only my greatest appreciation for life, but also the push to create something meaningful with it.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
Early in my teaching, I believed that I had to showcase every pose with my own form looking 100% perfect before I could teach it. I equated being a good teacher with demonstrating flawless alignment. Over time, I realized how naive that was.
While I still believe in teaching poses safely with integrity and proper alignment, I no longer focus on looking perfect myself. Yoga isn’t only about how it looks on the outside—it’s about what it feels like on the inside too. By letting go of that pressure to perform, I’ve become a more authentic teacher, one who guides students to listen to their own bodies rather than trying to replicate a picture-perfect pose. That shift has made my teaching more grounded, relatable, and true to what yoga is really about.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. How do you know when you’re out of your depth?
I know I’m out of my depth when I feel myself reaching beyond what I can safely guide or confidently give. Early in my career, that showed up in teaching—I realized that simply offering modifications for pregnancy wasn’t enough, and that I needed deeper knowledge to truly serve expecting moms. That’s what led me to pursue certifications in perinatal fitness and prenatal yoga.
Motherhood has also been a powerful mirror for this. There are moments where I don’t have all the answers—and instead of pushing through, I’ve learned to pause, ask for support, and remind myself that humility is a form of strength.
For me, being out of my depth doesn’t mean failure—it’s a signal for growth. It’s how I know it’s time to learn more, collaborate with others, or expand my own tools. That mindset is what shaped the Mindfit Mama App and UNITY as a whole: creating safe, mindful spaces where women don’t have to have it all figured out, but can lean in, learn, and feel supported.
