Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Miryam Fossati & Miryam Fossati of Fort Lauderdale

We recently had the chance to connect with Miryam Fossati & Miryam Fossati and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Miryam & Miryam, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, what has been bringing me the most joy outside of work is fostering dogs. Since I work from home and manage my own schedule, I started fostering last year, and so far, we’ve helped 13 dogs and even one kitty get ready for their forever homes.

Of course, there are moments of sadness when you learn about the conditions and situations these fur babies have endured at the hands of humans. But that sadness is quickly overshadowed by the joy they bring into our lives, the way they open up, regain their confidence, and continue to show nothing but love and kindness in return.

It’s always bittersweet when the time comes to let them go, because you do fall in love with each one. But knowing that we’ve given them a second chance and helped them transition into a life full of joy and safety is incredibly rewarding. They teach me so much: respect, kindness, loyalty, unconditional love. Honestly, if more humans loved the way dogs do, I believe we would live in a much kinder, more caring world.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Miryam Fossati, the founder of Premier Cellars, a luxury wine concierge service where wine, food, and travel come together to create unforgettable experiences. My journey into this industry started after leaving a successful executive career to follow my passion for wine and hospitality. I wanted to build something that was not only about sourcing exceptional bottles, but also about helping people reconnect with themselves, with others, and with the natural world through wine.

What makes Premier Cellars unique is our personalized approach. We don’t just deliver wine, we curate moments, stories, and connections. From provisioning yachts with hard-to-find vintages across South Florida, California, the Caribbean, and Europe, to designing cellar collections, to leading immersive retreats and wine education experiences, everything I do is guided by my values: authenticity, sustainability, and creating joy.

Right now, I’m especially excited about expanding our wine education programs, offering WSET certifications through a partnership with the Napa Valley Wine Academy, and hosting retreats where guests can slow down, savor, and truly awaken their senses. My mission is to make wine approachable, enriching, and inspiring, while always celebrating the farmers, winemakers, and traditions behind every bottle.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
Since I can remember, I’ve always felt empowered and powerful enough to accomplish my dreams. I was fortunate to grow up in an amazing and supportive family that instilled in us the belief to trust ourselves and our decisions, knowing we could always count on each other. I have three older brothers with a big age gap between us, but even as the youngest girl in the family, I was treated no differently. We were all taught the same values: respect, love, and care for one another.

As kids, we were always competing in games and activities. I knew I might not win when it came to physical strength, but that pushed me to get creative, to use my mind in different ways, and to find solutions others might not see. That gave me confidence and a deep sense of security in myself, knowing that if I put my mind to something, I could achieve it. It’s a lesson I carry with me every day. On tough days, I still remind myself: you can do this, there’s always another way, and you will figure it out.

When did you last change your mind about something important?
I’ve changed my mind many times throughout my business journey, and I see that as a strength. When you first build a business, you often start with one vision, but as you grow, you realize you need to pivot in order to truly provide the value your clients deserve. I’ve embraced those pivots, whether it meant shifting my services, refining my message, or rethinking how I deliver experiences. What’s important is that every change has been aligned with my core values: authenticity, connection, and excellence. To me, staying true to your values gives you the freedom to adapt, innovate, and keep moving forward with purpose.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would probably say that what really matters to me are the connections and experiences we share together, the memories we create, the trips we take, and the meals we linger over. For me, it’s about taking the time to disconnect from the noise and be fully present in the moment. I truly believe that time is the ultimate luxury; once it’s gone, you can’t get it back. That belief is actually one of the core pillars behind creating Premier Cellars. I wanted to build something that wasn’t just about wine, but about helping people savor life, share meaningful experiences, and create memories that last long after the glass is empty.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope the story people tell about me is that I lived fully, passionately, and with purpose. That I inspired others to savor life, not just through wine and food, but through connection, joy, and experiences that truly matter. I hope they say I made people feel seen, cared for, and encouraged to believe in themselves. Most of all, I hope they remember me as someone who brought people together, created lasting memories, and left a little more beauty, gratitude, and love in the world than I found.
