Hidden Gems: Meet Margaret Rose of Margaret Rose Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Margaret Rose.

Hi Margaret, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My first job in events was at the University of Miami’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, where I planned recognition and community outreach events, helped launch the inaugural Dolphins Cycling Challenge, and created the hospital’s first therapy dog program. After grad school, I moved to New York City and worked in the nonprofit sector planning commencement ceremonies at Lincoln Center and events for medical education institutions. When friends began getting engaged, I discovered my passion for weddings a side hustle that became my career! In 2017, I launched Margaret Rose Events. After five years of planning in New York, I returned home to South Florida to grow a presence in Miami. As a proud Florida native and Latina business owner, nothing brings me more joy than serving couples across the East Coast with inclusive, luxury wedding and event planning.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Living through the pandemic in NYC as a wedding planner was especially challenging. I had to reschedule over 20 weddings and find creative ways to help couples celebrate safely in 2020 and 2021! Beyond that, moving back to Miami after years in New York was a risk, as I had to rebuild networks and establish new connections. But I’m proud of the growth that’s come from it. Today, we’ve found a strong niche in planning Miami destination weddings for couples from the Northeast and around the world, while still producing luxury events in New York and traveling often between both markets.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is my ability to design events that are chic, timeless, and deeply personal to each client. My roots as a native Floridian combined with years in New York give me a unique perspective: I bring both an NYC level professionalism and a signature Florida flair. Clients know they’ll have a stunning event that reflects who they are, feel supported every step of the way, and be able to truly enjoy their day.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about Miami is the culture and community, it’s unmatched. People here truly show up and show out, and the local events community has been so welcoming. I’ve built incredible friendships and support systems, and I’m really grateful for the people I’ve met along the way.
