Conversations with Nathaly Gaitan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathaly Gaitan.

Nathaly, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have always had a passion for health, wellness, and fitness (feeling my best both inside and out). It was shortly after Covid where I realized that I could turn my passion into a career. I started teaching group fitness and have had the opportunity to work along side some great teachers that inspired and motivated me to pursue this full on. It started with strength training then later on I started teaching classes using reformers which led me to eventually get my Mat Pilates Certification. Once I did that, it all made sense for me, I knew this was my purpose. I knew that helping people feel their best, get strong both physically and mentally was it for me. I have met so many wonderful women and I love to celebrate them. Seeing them come into class ready to work hard, wearing their cutest workout set loving themselves, feels so motivating and rewarding. It is that strong sense of community that drives me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the beginning it was a bit hard because in this field of work you really have to put yourself out there. You have to market yourself, be very social and stay consistent. I didn’t have any clients at first and I was in the middle of my certification training so there was no income at the beginning. I then started to visit different studios, took classes of friends that were teaching at these studios and shaking hands with anyone I could meet. Once I started to immerse myself more and more the opportunities came. I landed personal training clients and started teaching group fitness.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I teach mat Pilates/Reformer and I am a Personal Trainer. Currently, I teach at a reformer studio in Doral called Tremble and I also coach at a women only gym called Glutehouse. Tremble is a 50-minute full body workout using reformer machines and Glutehouse focuses on lower body weight training. When you combine them together you get the best of both worlds. You get the strength and power from weightlifting, and the control, alignment, and mobility from using a reformer or jumping on a mat. I have many clients that visit me at both locations. I have also taught community/fundraiser classes to help support animals in need. For me, that is what I am most proud of, that I can use my skills to help people feel better about themselves but also give back to the community.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Stay true to yourself, hold yourself accountable and ALWAYS be open to learn.
