Today we’d like to introduce you to Noelia Chirazi.
Hi Noelia , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
From an early age, I found myself drawn to performing as an actress on screen. I grew up dancing, taught myself piano and drums as a teenager, discovered a love for singing, and even before I had any real connection to the film industry, I just imagined one day being part of major productions.
That dream became tangible when I joined my first acting agency in Vienna, where I’m originally from. At 16, I landed my first leading role in a drama feature film. From the very first day on set, I knew this was the path I wanted to pursue. Two years later, I was honored with an award for “Best Newcomer Actress” in Austria, dedicated to the actress Romy Schneider.
Life then took me and my mother – who raised me alone and has been my biggest supporter – across the ocean to the U.S., where we started from scratch in Miami. After my visa expired , I returned to Vienna and later moved to Berlin, where I studied acting, signed with agencies, and gained more on-camera experience working on projects across Germany and Austria. Alongside that, I created and produced my own dance video projects, one of which was honored with an award from the city of Vienna last year.
After years of growth and meaningful experiences while living apart from my mom, a door unexpectedly opened again for me to go to the U.S.- this time to refine my English and continue training for both the European and international film markets.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it hasn’t always been easy. I went from one extreme to the other. The challenges actually began while I was still in high school – when I began acting, I sometimes had to study for exams on set, and I even had to repeat a year at school. But with discipline, I graduated successfully.
When I was in the U.S., I tried to study acting, but my mom and I quickly realized that tuition was far more expensive than expected, and even with a scholarship it would have been too costly. We moved from one university to another, looking for a solution, until I discovered that studying dance in Miami was the most affordable option. I immediately went back to Vienna, found a private coach, and worked as a waitress to afford the dance lessons. For three months, my life was all about working and training intensively for the audition so I could live in the same country as my mom. Originally, her company had promised her to support me with my visa, but they didn’t keep it. After these three months of full-on dance training, I realized that dance was never meant to be my main career – I wanted acting to be my main focus, and dance a complementary skill. I knew that if I truly wanted something, I had to pursue it 100%, not halfway. So I decided to move to Berlin to study acting.
Growing up very sheltered and close with my mom, I suddenly found myself alone in a completely new country. In Berlin, I balanced three jobs, attended an acting university, and was also part of a dance company, coordinating everything while keeping up with my work and studies. During these responsibilities, there were moments when I didn’t even know who I could trust. My mom faced difficulties too, losing her job when her company went bankrupt. It was intense, and the pressure kept growing, but I stayed positive and hold on to my belief because deep down I always knew I can make it.
I continued shooting as an actress, created successful dance video projects, went to film festivals, and expanded my network. Through it all, I never lost sight of one of my biggest goals – to one day study acting in the U.S. at one of the most renowned universities.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an actress, and it has always been important to me to connect my other passions-such as dance, piano, singing, and writing poetry-with my work as a performer. I truly enjoy learning new skills. As a teenager, I taught myself piano pieces such as “Für Elise” by Beethoven, explored drumming on my own, and in challenging times discovered my love for writing poetry. Today, I sometimes accompany myself on the piano when I sing, and I see all of these artistic expressions as a way to nurture my soul and enrich my acting.
Some of my biggest achievements so far include winning the Romy Award for “Best Newcomer Actress” and creating my dance video project “Revêrie”, which I produced, choreographed, directed, and danced in. A year later, this project was honored with an award for “Best Artistic” project.
What represents me best as Noelia is that I have found a personal artistic style. I love, for example, the elegance of Audrey Hepburn’s fashion, while at the same time embracing many different sides of myself.
I am proud of myself for the dedication and discipline I’ve shown in pursuing my passions, and I am equally proud of my mom, who raised me alone and has always been my greatest supporter. Together, we have faced challenges, stayed committed to our dreams, made and still make them a reality.
Having the chance to pursue and live my passions is already a blessing, and I am very grateful for it. Whatever comes, I trust and enjoy the path, and I am ready for it.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about Miami is its vibrant energy and creativity. The city inspires me with its beautiful beaches, diverse culture, and the endless opportunities to connect with people who are passionate about art and performance. I also enjoy the warm, sunny weather, which makes it a perfect place to train, create, and explore new ideas.
If I had to pick something I like a little less about Miami, it’s that sometimes the lifestyle can feel very focused on appearances. But at the same time, I’ve also met many warm, authentic people there, so it really depends on the circles you’re in.
