We’re looking forward to introducing you to Minister Travis Green. Check out our conversation below.
Travis, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Being deep in the planning stages for this retreat, there’s plenty to feel proud—and even laugh about:
• Pride:
• All the brainstorming, securing speakers/workshops, locking down catering—seeing it all come together has been such a rewarding moment.
• Getting those early registrations—feels like a major validation that this is resonating with couples.
• Laughter:
• When you and your wife tested out the icebreaker activities… let’s just say it involved laughter, silliness, and unintended comedic moments you’ll have to tweak for a more “mature” audience 😉
• And don’t forget the tech test run where the retreat playlist went full “70s disco” by accident—funny mix-up, but such great vibes!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Travis Green is a dynamic motivational speaker, youth mentor, and minister behind TDG Speaks, as well as Co‑Founder of The Greens Inc. His heart is rooted in empowering others—especially young people and couples—to live with purpose, resilience, and spiritual depth.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
“Before I ever saw the greatness in myself, my late grandmother, Gladys Wimes, saw it clearly. Her faith in who I could become continues to guide and inspire me every day.”
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
“Yes, there was a time I almost gave up—when I lost my grandmother, Gladys Wimes, and my mother, Annette Green. Their passing shook me to my core. But even in my darkest moments, their love, prayers, and belief in me gave me the strength to keep going. Their legacy lives on in every message I speak and every life I hope to impact.”
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
“My closest friends would tell you that what truly matters to me is my faith, my family, and living out my God-given purpose. They know I strive to lead with integrity, speak with intention, and pour love into everything I do—because those three pillars are the foundation of who I am.”
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
“Yes, I could—and I do. I give my best not for applause, but because I’m called to serve with excellence. Even if no one ever praised me, I know God sees it. Purpose isn’t about being seen; it’s about being faithful. That’s what drives me every day.”
