Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Lindsay Miller of Boca Raton

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Lindsay Miller. Check out our conversation below.

Lindsay, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: When was the last time you felt true joy?
Last weekend, during a booking in NYC, I experienced one of those rare moments that felt like pure magic. I was hired to capture engagement visuals, both photo and video, for the most beautiful couple. They brought me to these hidden gardens that looked like they were pulled straight from my mood board: soft meadows, golden light, holding hands, dancing barefoot in the grass. It felt like a movie.

After the shoot, we headed to a surprise engagement party at the fiancé’s house. Both families were there, and the energy was electric. As the night went on, a dance battle broke out, everyone circled up, cheering and dancing, completely in the moment. I remember laughing so hard, completely overwhelmed in the best way by the love and joy around me.

And the cherry on top? My twin sister was with me, assisting on the shoot. Any day I get to spend with her, especially doing what I love, is already the best day. But this one? This one was unforgettable.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m the founder and creative heart behind Sonder Visual Studio, a visual branding studio offering imagery, video, and design for brands who care about storytelling and aesthetics just as much as strategy. The name Sonder comes from a word I’ve always held close, it means the realization that every passerby is living a life as rich and vivid as your own. That idea, of depth, perspective, and intentionality, has been the thread through everything I’ve built.

Every entrepreneurial path I’ve walked has revolved around Sonder in some way. I’ve created under the names Sonder Brand and Sustainably Sonder—projects that were deeply personal and purpose-driven, but Sonder Visuals is the first chapter that truly feels like a career. It’s more than just a business; it’s where my skills in creative direction, aesthetic design, photography, and video come to life in service of helping others show up beautifully and boldly in their own stories.

What makes my work unique is the emotional presence behind it. I don’t just show up with a camera or a design template, I show up with heart. I want every brand I work with to feel seen, supported, and celebrated. Right now, I’m expanding into larger-scale brand storytelling projects, booking more destination shoots, and helping visionary entrepreneurs bring their creative worlds to life.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I’ve learned that when people feel unseen, unheard, or misunderstood, it creates distance. Misalignment festers in the absence of clarity. But when we approach each other with curiosity, compassion, and a willingness to listen—not just to respond, but to understand, that’s when real connection blooms again.

Even in my work with clients, communication is everything. Creating something meaningful together requires trust, clarity, and the space to express ideas. Whether in business or personal life, I think it’s communication that quietly holds everything together—or quietly tears it apart when we stop tending to it.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
For a long time, the fear that held me back most was the anxiety I felt around social obligations. As someone who doesn’t always feel at ease in crowds or high-energy social settings, there were moments when I didn’t even want to be perceived, let alone put myself out there. It made networking, self-promotion, and even saying “yes” to big opportunities feel incredibly uncomfortable. But through NET (Neuro Emotional Technique) therapy and deep personal work, I’ve learned how to meet myself with compassion and push through those limiting beliefs.
Now, I’m proudly saying yes to bookings in places like Japan and Vietnam, something the version of me five years ago wouldn’t have even dreamed of. It’s not about being fearless, it’s about showing up anyway. And I’m proud of the woman I’m becoming.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They’d probably say I care deeply about intention, connection, and authenticity. I’m the kind of person who believes that everything, from the way you style your space to the way you treat people, should be done with love and purpose. I value my relationships so much, and the people closest to me know that I will always show up for them, hold space for their emotions, and cheer them on like it’s my full-time job. I also think they’d say I care about beauty, not just the surface-level kind, but beauty in the way people move through life with kindness, in the way sunsets hit buildings just right, and in the quiet magic of ordinary moments. Those things matter to me more than anything.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace during cotton candy sunsets on the beach, when the sky turns to pastels and the whole world feels soft for a moment. I’ll play some vibey lo-fi, take a deep breath, and just exist.
