We recently had the chance to connect with Barbara Rivas and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Barbara, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
What makes me lose track of time—and find myself again—is the deep connection I have with wellness and the rituals that ground me. When I’m moving through a yoga flow, lost in the rhythm of my breath, or immersed in a sound bath, time seems to dissolve. Fitness helps me release what doesn’t serve me, while meditation brings me back to my center. These practices aren’t just routines—they’re how I reconnect with myself, reset my energy, and realign with purpose. It’s in those quiet, intentional moments that I feel most at home.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My name is Barbara Rivas, and I’m a music executive and wellness advocate based in Miami. I currently work at Mr. 305 Records, where I manage projects and campaigns for various artists, helping shape the stories behind the music. Outside of that, I’m the founder of The Blissful Project, a wellness community and movement designed to bring mindfulness, spirituality, and mental health into the fast-paced world of entertainment and corporate culture.
What makes my journey unique is how I’ve blended two worlds—music and wellness—to create spaces where people can thrive creatively and emotionally. Whether I’m leading a sound healing session, wellness event or strategizing a music rollout, my mission is to empower others to reconnect with their purpose and inner peace. Right now, I’m working on expanding Blissful Project into retreats, Podcast, Merch, and more collaborations with artists and creatives who want to lead with intention.
My story is still being written, but at the core of everything I do is a desire to elevate others while staying grounded in authenticity, community, and healing.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
Without a doubt, my mother taught me the most about work. Watching her navigate unfamiliar spaces with grit, grace, and relentless determination shaped my entire perspective on what it means to work hard and work with purpose. She taught me that work isn’t just about making a living—it’s about showing up with integrity, pushing through challenges, and creating opportunities not only for yourself, but for those who come after you. Her resilience and sacrifice are the foundation of everything I do.
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
After failing hard, I changed my mind about the idea that everything has to happen on a specific timeline, or exactly as I expected them to. I used to believe that if something didn’t work out exactly when or how I planned it, I was behind or not good enough. But failure showed me that delays and detours are often divine redirections—pushing me toward growth, alignment, and deeper purpose. I learned that the process is just as important as the outcome, and that patience is a strength, not a weakness.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m deeply committed to building The Blissful Project into a global movement that bridges wellness and creativity—especially within the music and entertainment industry. I believe that healing, mindfulness, and intentional living should be accessible to artists, executives, creatives and anyone who often operate in high-pressure environments without the tools to care for their mental and emotional well-being.
No matter how long it takes, I’m devoted to creating spaces—whether through retreats, content, or community—that help people reconnect with themselves, their purpose, and each other. This is more than a project; it’s a calling.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
Absolutely. There have been moments when achieving a goal felt thrilling at first but quickly left me feeling unfulfilled or empty. I realized that getting what I wanted—whether it was recognition, a milestone, or external success—didn’t automatically bring lasting happiness or meaning. True satisfaction comes from alignment with my values, growth, and the impact I’m able to create for others, not just the outcome itself. Those experiences taught me to focus more on the journey and purpose behind my goals rather than just the destination.
