Story & Lesson Highlights with Mike Fewquay of Sunrise

We recently had the chance to connect with Mike Fewquay and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Mike, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I would say the evolution of myself such as my mindset, my environments, the actions I do/don’t partake in, and simply just how good life has been. Not only has this brought me joy but it has also brought me peace all glory be to God because without Him none of this even comes to fruition, but its been a blessing just to see how far I’ve come and where I’m on course to go.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Mike and my brand is Paid Tripz I’m a certified travel advisor that specializes in booking travel, curating personalized itineraries, and providing my expertise on all things travel. I also serve as a guide for some of the best food, fun, and unique spots not only in South Florida but in other states as well, soon enough in other countries as well. I’ve been on this journey since June of 2023 and never looked back as its been a great way for me to connect with so many wonderful people and has given me the chance to influence others to get out there and start taking Tripz no matter where, when, or how.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mother 1,000% saw me as her little boy for such a long time until I had to reestablish myself to her as the man I am today and I believe that more than anything strengthened our bond even more. Since birth she’s always led me to believe that I was better than whatever I told her I wanted to be and it remains the same to this day. I know of course that your parents are supposed to see you in that light but unfortunately not everyone is blessed with such great parents and I thank the Lord just about everyday for her to not only mold me as a child but to also still be very present in my life as an adult even despite her personally knowing my trials and tribulations. One thing she has said that will always seem to stick with me is “I’ll always support whatever you do but I can’t support what I don’t see”.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering has taught me to never take things or people for granted. Always live in the moment one day at a time and to control whats right in front of you otherwise you’ll lose sight of it. Most importantly to be grateful and humble because everyone has their turn its just a matter of when and what you do with it.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Believing in God is essential to me and the #1 reason as to how I’ve gotten this far. This journey hasn’t been easy by any means but its worth everything and I’m willing to believe until eternity. Blessings be to all!

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Of course without a doubt, the way I see life is that there are days where you’ll feel as if the world loves you and then it hates you no matter how good you may claim to be especially in todays age with the social media algorithm. I’m a firm believer that at the end of the day the job has to get done whether I have someone in my corner or not. Now it is a bit easier and enjoyable to have your peers rooting for you but thats not always the case. Sometime its not so much that people don’t want to support you often times they just don’t see or understand your vision so keep going.
