Story & Lesson Highlights with Devin Vance of Fort Lauderdale

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Devin Vance. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Devin, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
Trust – but it does not always come easy. This single trait is the benchmark of my character, my company, and especially my Family and business relationships.
Trust is earned and not bought. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Devin Vance, and I’m the President of Classic Marble Restoration, Inc., a family-owned company based in South Florida. For nearly 30 years, we’ve specialized in restoring and preserving marble and natural stone surfaces in some of the most exclusive homes, estates, and superyachts in the region.

What sets us apart is our deep understanding of luxury materials and our commitment to old-world craftsmanship paired with modern efficiency. We’ve built a reputation for excellence among discerning clients who trust us to maintain the beauty and value of their most prized spaces.

Right now, we’re expanding our direct services to the yachting community and luxury residential market, streamlining the process by working directly with owners, Captains & Crews, as well as estate managers. It’s about offering high-end service with precision, discretion, and integrity — every time.

Our story is simple: we treat every project like it’s our own, and we’ve built our business on relationships, results, and a relentless pursuit of perfection.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shaped how I see myself is the one I have with my father. He was a hardworking man who believed in doing things right the first time, even when nobody was watching. Growing up, I witnessed him pour pride into everything he did — whether it was fixing something around the house or helping a neighbor without expecting anything in return.

That sense of integrity, responsibility, and craftsmanship stuck with me. It’s what led me to build Classic Marble Restoration, Inc. not just as a business, but as a reflection of those values. In a world that often favors shortcuts, his influence taught me the value of taking your time, caring about the result, and doing things with purpose — and that’s exactly how I’ve built my brand.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me patience and perspective in a way that success never could. In business, especially when you’re building something from the ground up, there are times when you’re doing everything right — and still things don’t go your way. I’ve had moments where jobs fell through, money was tight, and it felt like no one was noticing the effort I was putting in.

But it was during those low points that I learned how to truly trust myself, to adapt, and to keep showing up even when things were uncertain. Struggle forced me to slow down, reassess, and double down on what mattered: integrity, consistency, and relationships.

Success is rewarding, but suffering teaches you resilience. It humbles you. And it gives you a kind of strength and clarity that becomes the foundation for everything that follows.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies my industry tells itself is that “anyone can do marble restoration with the right tools.” The truth is, tools don’t replace experience, craftsmanship, or an understanding of the delicate nature of natural stone. There’s a growing trend of shortcuts — fast fixes, cheap chemicals, and rushed work — all in the name of efficiency or profit. But that approach often causes irreversible damage.

Another lie is the idea that clients can’t tell the difference between quality and mediocrity. They can — especially the high-end clients we work with. They notice the finish, the attention to detail, and the respect you show for their property.

At Classic Marble Restoration, we’ve spent nearly 30 years proving that integrity, skill, and real results still matter. This isn’t just a service — it’s an art form. And when done right, it speaks for itself.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
As a business owner, I feel most at peace when everything aligns — when a client truly understands the value we bring, a job is running smoothly, and I can see the results of years of hard work and relationship-building paying off. I’m not the technician — I’m the one who earns the client’s trust, quotes every job, manages the schedule, oversees operations, and drives the marketing behind the scenes.

What brings me peace isn’t just the polished stone — it’s knowing I’ve built a company that reflects integrity, professionalism, and consistency. I’ve put 25+ years into making Classic Marble Restoration what it is today, and knowing that our reputation stands strong in a competitive, high-expectation industry gives me real peace of mind.

I take pride in every handshake, every call, every decision — because this business is personal to me. It’s my name, my reputation, and my legacy.
