We recently had the chance to connect with Kayai Graham and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Kayai , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
My first 90 minutes began with morning prayer, reading my Bible plan and meditation before getting out of bed. I have to give God all his honor before starting my day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi there! I’m Kayai Graham — a wife to a supportive husband and mother to an amazing adult son. I’m also a global real estate broker, mortgage loan officer, speaker, and community builder with a passion for helping people break generational cycles through ownership. I specialize in residential and international real estate across South Florida, Central Florida, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Africa, and Dubai. I also lead The Relational Group, where we blend business with purpose, helping clients find their dream homes and agents build thriving, service-based careers.
What makes my brand unique? I don’t just sell homes—I build legacy. From launching down payment education initiatives for Section 8 families to mentoring new agents, I believe in showing up for my clients, team, and community with real knowledge, heart, and hustle. I’m also the founder of K&T Teens of Tomorrow, a nonprofit empowering youth through mentorship, scholarships, and leadership development.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding our impact internationally, scaling my agent mentorship program, and launching a real estate collective for agents across brokerages. Whether you’re buying, selling, investing, or just dreaming big—I’m here to help turn vision into reality.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My grandmother Fannie. She always saw my leadership abilities even when I was being mischievous. She taught me about God and the importance of keeping him involved in everything and he would provide. She told me I could be anything I wanted to be. I miss her so much but I have her forever in my heart.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me the kind of strength that success never could. Success claps for you, but suffering builds you. It humbles you, strips you, and then if you let it reshapes you with a deeper sense of compassion, wisdom, and grit.
When I faced loss, rejection, and even financial setbacks, I learned how to rely not just on strategy, but on faith. I realized that my value wasn’t tied to outcomes but to my resilience. Suffering taught me how to get up when nobody was watching, how to lead when I didn’t feel strong, and how to keep showing up even when I didn’t see the reward right away.
Success might make you feel celebrated. But suffering? It makes you unshakable.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would tell you that what matters most to me is impact. Not just surface-level success, but creating real, lasting change—whether that’s helping a family buy their first home, mentoring a new agent stepping into their purpose, or pouring into youth through my nonprofit. They’d also say I care deeply about faith, family, and legacy. I’m the one reminding everyone to pray before the plan and follow through with excellence after the prayer.
They know I value truth over trends, character over clout, and people over profit. I believe in lifting as I climb, and I want to leave every room, relationship, and community better than I found it.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope the story people tell about me is that I lived on purpose, with purpose. That I didn’t just talk about faith, family, and community—I walked it out in everything I did. I want them to say, “Kayai made people feel seen, valued, and capable. She turned keys into legacies, and struggles into stepping stones.”
I hope they remember that I loved hard, gave freely, and never missed a moment to uplift someone else even when my own load was heavy. That I built businesses, yes but I also built people. I stood in rooms others were afraid to enter and then left the door wide open behind me.
And more than anything, I hope they say, “Because of her, I didn’t give up.”
