Story & Lesson Highlights with Camille Burthwright of Fort Lauderdale

We recently had the chance to connect with Camille Burthwright and have shared our conversation below.

Camille, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Without a doubt. I’m the kind of person who sees a challenge and thinks, “Alright, let’s make this happen.” I’ve built a business from scratch, navigated every curveball, and still kept my vision clear. I bring grit, creativity, and a little sparkle to everything I do.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Camille Burthwright now Camille Rose (recently married), founder and CEO of Camibella’s Beauty, a luxury hair brand built on the belief that every strand tells a story. My love affair with hair began at just 12 years old when I modeled for my cousin’s cosmetology class. That day, I didn’t just witness a transformation, I felt it. The creativity, the confidence, and even the science behind hair completely captivated me, sparking a lifelong passion for empowering women through beauty.

Camibella’s Beauty was born from that passion. We create high-quality, do-it-yourself wigs and hair extensions designed for women who want convenience without compromising luxury. But what truly sets us apart is how we’ve brought the brick-and-mortar experience into the digital space. Through our exclusive virtual try-on app that is available only to clients who book a consultation where you can see exactly how our wigs will look on you before you buy. Paired with our expert guidance, it’s a white-glove, personalized experience from start to finish.

For me, it’s never been just about hair. It’s about giving women the tools, confidence, and inspiration to embrace their own story, one beautiful strand at a time.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a little girl, I was shy, soft-spoken, and convinced I had limits. But life as well as my own resilience proved me wrong. Over the years, I’ve achieved milestones I once thought were out of reach, often with little to no help. That journey built the determination and ambition that fueled the creation of Camibella’s Beauty. Today, I channel that same unstoppable drive into empowering women worldwide through luxury, do-it-yourself wigs and hair extensions and now, with our exclusive virtual try-on app, I’m bringing the beauty experience to them in a way that’s never been done before.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of not being good enough has been the biggest hurdle in my life. Growing up, I was a perfectionist always striving to excel, not just for myself, but to make my parents and family proud. That perfectionism carried into adulthood, but it often came with hesitation. Sometimes I’d hold back, worried that failing would mean disappointing the people I love most.

Even now, that fear sometimes whisper in the back of my mind. But I’ve learned to counter it with my own pep talks, reminding myself that progress matters more than perfection. Each time I push past that hesitation, I prove to myself that I am more than enough and that has been the most freeing part of my journey.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would tell you that my world revolves around my husband, my family, and my friends. They’d say I’m fiercely ambitious, but my drive isn’t just about my own success, it’s about lifting up the people I love. If they have a dream, I’m right there cheering them on, brainstorming ideas, or rolling up my sleeves to help make it happen. For me, success isn’t just a solo journey; it’s something worth sharing and celebrating together.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people will say that I treated everyone I met with fairness, kindness, and respect and that I lived by the simple rule of treating others the way I’d want to be treated. I’d want them to remember me as someone who was considerate, yet unafraid to speak her truth in the most respectful way possible. And beyond that, I’d love for them to say that I brought joy into their lives; that I made them laugh, lifted their spirits, and was simply a pleasure to be around. If that’s the story people tell about me, I’ll know I lived well.
