Samantha Echeverria of West Palm Beach. on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Samantha Echeverria shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Samantha, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
I treat every job like it’s my own, whether I’m working directly with my clients or second shooting for another photographer. I show up prepared, focused, and ready to give 100%. I care about the full experience, not just the photos. I’m intentional with the way I work, and I take pride in bringing good energy and professionalism every time.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Samantha, a Latina photographer based in South Florida, and I run a photo and video business with my husband, Felix. We’ve been married for 20 years and capturing weddings, quinces, and all kinds of love stories for over 10. What makes us different? We bring heart to everything we do. We treat our clients like family and capture every moment with care natural, timeless, and full of meaning.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My husband. He saw my creativity, my eye for moments, and my heart for people, way before I ever called myself a photographer. He believed in me, pushed me, and still reminds me why I started, even on the hard days. Anytime I share something new I’ve accomplished, he just smiles and says, ‘I knew you could do it.’ He reminds me that more is coming, and that keeps me grounded and dreaming at the same time.”

Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
I miss the days when my house was full of friends, laughter, and long conversations. Life moves fast, and everyone has their own challenges, so it’s harder to find that time together. But I’m hopeful we’ll make space again for those moments because connection is what really matters.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
A big lie in photography is that gear and trends are everything. The truth? It’s really about connection and telling real stories. Also, the industry can feel super competitive, but focusing on being authentic and building relationships always wins in the end.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had 10 years left, I’d stop stressing over things that don’t matter like comparing myself to others or worrying about what other people think of me. I’d focus more on what truly brings joy, spending time with family, and doing work that feels meaningful.
