Reinaldo Torres on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Reinaldo Torres and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Reinaldo , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me consists of sitting in front of my computer, checking emails, scanning and uploading documents for permits, phone calls with building departments and my clients. After the work day is over, I am working on getting writing done for my media production company and shooting content for my YouTube channels.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Reinaldo Torres. I live in Miami Florida. I am the CEO of RGT Media Productions. I am writing/acting/and producing my web-series, The Associates. I am also a published author, I published my first book titled, Young, Gifted, and Directionless is 2023. I am also a notary permit runner. I work with building contractors helping them navigate the complex permit process. I think what’s interesting about my brand RGT Media Productions is, I was able to start this journey into the industry with no connections, just vision, discipline, faith, and hard work. Watching the progress, is a testiment to what a person can accomplish if they believe in themselves and trust the process.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My grandmother Marie Torres clearly saw me before I saw myself. She always encouraged me to never give up on my God-Given Skill of public speaking. In college, I struggled a lot with my gifts and abilities, and how I was going to use them to show up. Although, I didn’t follow the exact path, my grandmother encouraged me to take, I am still able to use the skill of public speaking to impact, empower, and inspires others while finding a path that led to being more authentically myself.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes! Back in 2017 after graduating with my masters, I still didn’t have a concrete plan for what I wanted to do. I was beating myself up constantly because there was expectation to succeed and there was also was this sense or inkling to build a different path for myself, and struggling with doing what you need to do, vs doing what you want to do, and not seeing any growth or progress on either side was frustrating for me and I almost gave up, but thankfully, I was introduced to an opportunity that helped me get to where I wanted to be. I am grateful that I had the resilience to stay true to what I wanted to do.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
For me, it’s The growth of my brand, RGT Media Productions and my message of overcoming adversity. They are both connected. Every project, I have written since launching the business is rooted in resilience to show people, you can start with little to-no connections, a small amount of money, create something create and still show up and win. I am committed to building RGT Media, page-by page, scene by scene, and using my platform and message to show people, set-backs are temporary, Whether it takes me, 10 years or 50 years, I will keep creating work that entertains and empowers, because when people think of RGT Media or me, I want them to say, “Because of you, I didn’t give up.”

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope that people say that I used my talent and determination to make a difference. That I helped people who otherwise would not take a chance on themselves in media or entrepreneurship, to dream bigger and take a shot on something bigger than themselves. I hope people say that I made an impact on them in someway that left them more empowered than when I found them.
