Story & Lesson Highlights with The Lavish Luster of Fort Lauderdale

The Lavish Luster shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

The Lavish, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day begins with God, prayer, scripture, and stillness. After that, I check-in with my family, respond to emails and social media messages. Then I begin packing orders, while I await carrier pickup I take time to strategize on more ways to grow my brand.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m The Lavish Luster, founder of a brand that’s all about redefining beauty with elegance and glamour. At the heart of what I do is a celebration of bold, empowering femininity, where luxury and sophistication meet strength and authenticity. Through my brand, I aim to create a space where women can feel powerful, beautiful, and unapologetically themselves.
The Lavish Luster offers a wide range of high quality products, from premium hair extensions and natural hair care to vegan beauty essentials, each of which is crafted to enhance not just your look, but your confidence. What makes my brand unique is our focus on the details that matter, from clean ingredients and thoughtful design to the elegance that shines through every product. I’m currently working on expanding our product line and deepening our commitment to beauty that’s both glamorous and grounded in purpose.

This isn’t just about looking good, it’s about feeling radiant, resilient, and refined in every part of your life.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
The person who taught me the most about work is my mom. She’s incredibly resilient, hardworking, and carries herself with quiet strength. Watching her navigate challenges with grace and determination has always inspired me. She’s not just a mom, but also the foundation of my work ethic and the reason I push forward, even when things get tough. Her example reminds me that excellence, consistency, and heart goes a long way.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain and started using it as power the moment I realized I had to do it for me. Carrying it in silence was only holding me back, and I knew that my healing couldn’t depend on anyone else, it had to start with me choosing myself. That shift turned my pain into fuel. It gave me purpose, clarity, and the strength to build something beautiful out of what once tried to break me.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
One belief I’m deeply committed to no matter how long it takes is creating foundation shades that are truly inclusive. The beauty industry still has a long way to go when it comes to representing all skin tones, especially deeper and undertoned complexions. I’m passionate about changing that. Everyone deserves to see themselves reflected in beauty, and I’m committed to curating a shade range that celebrates every hue, undertone, and identity with intention and excellence.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m reading the Bible. There’s a calm, a stillness, and a sense of deep connection that’s truly indescribable. In those moments, everything else fades the noise, the pressure, the expectations, it’s just me and God. That’s where I find clarity, comfort, and the strength to keep going.
