An Inspired Chat with Tiffany Hamilton of South beach

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Tiffany Hamilton. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Tiffany, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first thing I do is thank God for blessing me to see another day. I know for sure that I still have purpose and my work on this earth is not finished. I then let Elsa my Yorkie outside, make myself a cup of hot tea or coffee then I just sit in silence.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Tiffany, and I’m the founder of Living Foods, a holistic lifestyle brand rooted in plant-based healing, wellness, and community care. I’m a certified holistic practitioner, certified in psychology food coaching, and also a certified master herbalist—which gives me a unique balance of mind, body, and practical grounding.

Living Foods is more than just a business; it’s a movement. We focus on reconnecting people with nature through food, herbs, and holistic practices. From our Holistic Hotline, where people can call in for wellness guidance, to our herbal grocery service, customized wellness kits, and community-centered healing experiences like sound baths and psychological food coaching, everything we do is designed to help people live in alignment with their bodies and spirit.

What makes Living Foods special is that it’s not just about selling products or services—it’s about creating access. During the pandemic, we partnered with organizations to deliver holistic meals to families who couldn’t leave their homes. Today, we continue that mission with Living Abundance, our food rescue and hunger relief initiative, ensuring that wellness isn’t reserved for the privileged but is a right for everyone.

I’m also partially deaf, and I use that as part of my advocacy. My brand Half Heard brings an unapologetically urban, Deaf-centered perspective to the conversation around wellness, identity, and empowerment.

Living Foods stands at the crossroads of healing, culture, and community. We make wellness practical, approachable, and rooted in abundance.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
The people who taught me the most about work were definitely my parents. Both of them were entrepreneurs, so I grew up surrounded by that mindset. My dad owned a car wash, and after school me and my brothers would get off the bus and hang out there until he finished his day. At the time, we thought we were just running around playing, but really we were watching him build something from the ground up.

It was the same with my mom—she was a master seamstress who created and sold wedding gowns, prom dresses, and tuxedos. We’d spend time in her shop while she worked, and again, we didn’t realize it then, but we were witnessing what it means to be self-made.

Looking back, those experiences shaped me into who I am today. Seeing my parents’ hustle, dedication, and independence planted the seed in me to become an entrepreneur mysel

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Losing both of my parents so close together was the most painful wound I’ve ever faced. I haven’t fully healed from it, and honestly, I don’t know if I ever will. But what keeps me moving forward is the love and lessons they left behind. They were both entrepreneurs, and I use the pain of their loss as a daily reminder to keep building, to keep striving, and to live in a way that honors the hard work and sacrifice they showed me.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is absolutely me. I’m unapologetically and authentically myself, no matter what. I believe that living with integrity means showing up as who you are, 100% of the time. If you put on a mask, eventually it’s going to slip—and people will see through it. I’d rather just be real from the start.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me as someone who turned every obstacle into opportunity. Being 50% deaf has shaped my journey in powerful ways, but instead of letting it hold me back, I used it to push harder and dream bigger. I want my legacy to be that of a trailblazer—a disabled female entrepreneur who broke barriers, created her own lane, and paved the way for other women like me to rise even higher.
