Carolina Sosti of Davie on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Carolina Sosti and have shared our conversation below.

Carolina, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I’ve felt deeply called to lead yoga retreats—spaces where people can truly step away from their daily routines and immerse themselves in healing, growth, and connection. At first, I was honestly afraid: afraid of failing, of not having enough students join, of putting my heart into something so meaningful and it not working out.

But what I’ve learned is that the fear was really just a doorway into courage. Every retreat has shown me that when we lead with authenticity, people feel it. They’re not just signing up for yoga classes in a beautiful place—they’re saying yes to transformation, to being seen, and to reconnecting with themselves.

What once felt risky has become one of the most rewarding parts of my journey as a teacher. These retreats remind me again and again that when you follow your calling, even if it scares you, you create space for others to do the same.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Carolina Sosti, and I’m the founder of Shanti One Yoga LLC. I am a certified yoga instructor with multiple specializations, including vinyasa, yin, pranayama, sound healing, chakra alignment, and ceremonial practices. With more than 20 years of experience, my work blends ancient wisdom with modern practices to support holistic wellness.

I teach weekly yoga classes in my community, where I focus on cultivating strength, balance, and mindfulness in everyday life. Beyond the mat, my passion lies in curating transformative retreats—immersive journeys where yoga is synchronized with cultural experiences, ceremonies, and moments of deep connection. These retreats are not just a trip with yoga; they are carefully designed healing experiences that guide participants through emotional release, grounding, and self-discovery.

What makes my brand unique is the way I weave yoga into life itself. Each class or retreat isn’t just about movement—it’s about creating space for healing, clarity, and transformation.

My mission is simple: to guide people back to themselves through yoga, mindfulness, and meaningful experiences.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
The moment that truly shaped the way I see the world was the birth of my daughter, seven years ago. Becoming a mother opened my heart in ways I never imagined—it shifted my priorities, softened me, and gave me a deeper sense of purpose. It was in that moment that I realized how precious and fleeting life is, and how important it is to live with intention, presence, and love

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, obviously there were difficult times—moments when I almost gave up. Times when the path felt uncertain, when I doubted myself, or worried no one would show up for the work I was pouring my heart into. But every time I reached that breaking point, something reminded me why I started. A student’s words of gratitude, the healing I witnessed in a class, or the quiet strength I felt within myself. Those moments taught me resilience and trust—that even in the hardest seasons, if I keep showing up with love and faith, the right people, opportunities, and energy always arrive.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the wellness industry is the idea that healing or transformation can be achieved through a “quick fix.” So often it’s marketed as a product, a pose, or a retreat that will magically change everything. But true healing takes time, discipline, and presence. It’s not about perfection—it’s about creating space to reconnect with yourself, to release what no longer serves you, and to grow at your own pace.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had only 10 years left, the very first thing I would stop doing is worrying. Worry steals so much of our presence—it keeps us living in the “what ifs” instead of the beauty of the moment. I would choose to release that heaviness and focus instead on love, joy, connection, and creating meaningful experiences with the people I care about. Yoga has taught me that when we let go of worry, we make space for trust and for life to flow with more grace.
