Life & Work with Kitham Asad of Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kitham Asad.

Hi Kitham, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Kitham, a 24 year old whose brand has been developed on doing the impossible and following my creativity. I was born in a family mixed of cultures, being Palestinian and Russian which led me to be inspired by the world from a young age. I moved abroad the second I got a chance to do it which led me to realize that there is a deeper voice inside of me that likes to express herself through fashion and photography.

I noticed how much my work and experiences started to impact people who felt a calling to express themselves deep down, and just didn’t have the tools in knowing how to do so. I made it my mission to be in the in-between person, and to help people feel inspired of life again. This led to creating an event for creatives in Miami and for people to get out of their comfort zone, which opened the doors for an ever growing community.

I am now traveling the world most of the year and balancing how to build a community in Miami filled with inspiration, creativity, and getting girls the opportunities they might have not before. My brand has always been about making the impossible somehow possible and I will continue to incorporate my life experiences deeply into my work – whether artistically or professionally.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Everyone has a creative process, and mine blossoms in stillness. It has been challenging to live such a fast-paced life, from last minute trips to sitting down with a stranger I just met for hours, where it’s hard for me to get that stillness in my everyday life. There has been seasons where I am able to truly express myself as an artist, and others where nothing feels right except just being in reality. That is one struggle I suffer from as a creative.

I have struggled with believing in myself in the past. It is difficult to look at yourself in the mirror and believe that you have the power to accomplish all your goals and dreams, especially if there is no certain layout on how to do so. It is a challenge I still face from time to time, and taking action rather than listening to my thoughts is how I continuously overcome it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work is deeply personal, it is things I see in my brain and force it to come to life. From photoshoots in castles in Albania to finding hidden spots in Miami, I am constantly looking for ways to develop as an artist. I love being a model as much as I love being the one creative directing the whole process, I don’t like to limit my artistry.

I am the most proud of my Miami girl community where connection, opportunities, and a difference is being made. As someone who has solo traveled a lot, I know the importance of having a community and having people around you to navigate a city. It means so much to me that I am able to help girls skip that stage of having to figure it on their own and provide a place where they are welcomed.

What matters most to you?
I hope I can use my platform in the future to inspire others to change the world in whatever way they feel called to, and to preach authenticity rather than being a perfectionist. I’ve learned that there is no way to really experience life without making a bunch of mistakes, and I hope I can inspire others to truly live.
