Today we’d like to introduce you to Tecia Linville.
Hi Tecia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born in Brazil into a spiritualist family where unconditional love, music, and service were a way of life. I began playing classical piano and flute at the age of six with my teacher Vera Malaco. Music was always my passion.
As a teenager, I was already exploring meditation and higher consciousness. When I discovered the Vedanta philosophy, it felt like truth, something deep and familiar. My path has always been guided by unconditional love and a desire to help both people and animals.
In the early ’90s, I moved to the U.S. and was fortunate to connect with beautiful souls who helped me grow in spirituality, music, and yoga.
In the early 2000s, I met one of my dear Guru Sri Swami Jyotirmayananda from the Yoga Research Foundation in Miami. He inspired me to always strive to be a better person and gave me my spiritual name, Prabhavati Devi, which means “Divine Light.” A few years later, I met my beloved Guru Syamarani Dasi from Krishna Consciousness, whose teachings further deepened my path.
Over the years, I have taught Sivananda Yoga, meditation, Usui Reiki, and Sound therapy across South Florida.
One pivotal moment in my work came when a friend invited me to share my practice in rehab centers with people facing addiction and mental health challenges. That experience touched me deeply and shifted my life’s work. It became my mission to help others reconnect with their own strength and rediscover the peace that lives within them. I absolutely love what I do, and I’m grateful every day for the opportunity to serve.
Lately, my path has expanded even more. I’ve started recording music for inner healing with my dear friend and gifted musician /producer, Leroy Romans. Sharing this music with a wider audience feels like a natural next step in my journey.
And in a completely unexpected twist, I’ve fallen in love with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. About two years ago, my good friend Kelly Beringson, a professional BJJ athlete, invited me to a class. I didn’t expect much but something magical happened. Stepping onto the tatami brought me a new kind of balance. It’s become a vital part of my practice alongside yoga, meditation, and music.
This is where I am today living with purpose, staying grounded in my practices, and remaining open to whatever life brings next.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I think one of the core things about me is that I’m a deeply optimistic person. It’s not that life has always been easy far from it but I’ve learned to approach even the most difficult situations with the mindset that there’s something to learn, something to grow from.
I truly believe that every challenge we face holds a gift. Sometimes it’s not obvious right away, but if we stay open and present, there’s always an opportunity to evolve emotionally, spiritually, and even physically. I try to look at each moment, even the painful ones, as a chance to go deeper, to become more resilient, more compassionate, and more connected to myself and others.
That outlook has shaped how I live, how I teach, and how I relate to the people I work with. Whether I’m teaching at yoga center , creating music or teaching in rehab centers my approach is the same: stay curious, stay open, and trust that something beautiful can come from even the hardest moments.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work is rooted in healing through energy, vibration, and presence. I specialize in sound therapy, spiritual guidance and meditation, blending these practices to help people reconnect with their inner peace and strength. What I do isn’t about “fixing” anyone; it’s about creating a space where people can soften, feel safe, and begin to heal from within.
Sound therapy, in particular, has become a powerful focus for me.for the past 27 years I use a variety of sacred musical instruments from around the world to help shift energy, release tension, and bring the nervous system into a state of deep rest. For many people, sound becomes the gateway to healing especially when traditional talk-based methods feel out of reach. I’ve seen how vibration bypasses the mind and goes straight to the heart, helping people open up in beautiful and unexpected ways.
What I’m most proud of is the work I’ve done in addiction recovery and mental health spaces. A friend invited me years ago to bring sound therapy into rehab centers, and it changed my life. These were people in deep pain, often disconnected from themselves, and yet the moment the sounds began something would shift. You could feel the stillness drop in. That’s the magic of vibration and intention. And to witness that transformation, even just for an hour, is incredibly humbling.
I think what sets me apart is how I combine spiritual depth with simplicity and genuine presence. I come from a spiritualist background and have studied many traditions, but I don’t overcomplicate my work. I meet people where they are. Everything I share comes from a place of unconditional love. And I believe people can feel that.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
As for me, my vision is to continue creating spaces where people feel safe, seen, and supported on their healing journey. I want to keep offering sound therapy, yoga, Reiki, and spiritual guidance in ways that are accessible to everybody.
I also hope to expand my work through recordings and creative collaborations, so that people around the world can experience the calming, restorative power of sound and guided meditation.
Ultimately, my mission is to help others return home to themselves
one breath, one vibration, one peaceful moment at a time.
