Today we’d like to introduce you to Moshe Indig.
Hi Moshe, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I didn’t grow up thinking I’d be in admissions consulting, let alone running a business. But somewhere between getting into law school myself and helping a few friends with their applications, I realized how broken the system was. People were smart, motivated, and still falling for bad advice—writing generic essays, chasing rankings they didn’t understand, or applying blindly without strategy.
So I started Sharper Statements—not to build some flashy personal brand, but to actually help people cut through the noise. I work with high-intent law school applicants to sharpen their writing, their structure, and their narrative so they sound like the best version of themselves, not a LinkedIn robot. The business took off because the need was real, and I’ve kept it lean and deep ever since. No gimmicks, no fluff, just real strategy.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest challenges early on was explaining what I actually do. Law school admissions consulting sounds either too vague or too narrow, depending on who you ask. But what I really do is help smart people tell sharp, strategic stories that admissions officers actually care about.
Another challenge: scaling without becoming generic. I work one-on-one with clients and go deep, which means I had to turn down a lot of inquiries or build smart systems so quality didn’t drop. I also had to deal with a saturated space—where “consultant” can mean anything from essay editing mills to TikTok influencers. Standing out meant sticking to the substance.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I run Sharper Statements, where I help law school applicants write standout personal statements, resumes, and other application materials. The clients I work with aren’t looking for hand-holding—they’re looking for clarity, structure, and honest, strategic feedback.
Everything I do is customized and intentional. I don’t offer a menu of vague packages. I work with people who are serious about their goals, and I give them tools to get there—from big-picture narrative framing down to line edits that actually teach them how to write better.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Start by figuring out what you’re not going to do. Everyone talks about finding your niche, but a lot of clarity comes from deciding early what you don’t want to be, who you’re not for, and what compromises you’re not going to make.
You don’t need to have everything figured out to start. You just need to do excellent work, listen hard, and let real results build your reputation. Most people waste time polishing logos and building funnels. Do the work first. Let the brand catch up later.
