Community Highlights: Meet Jeannette Ramos of Hey Netty Retail

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeannette Ramos.

Hi Jeannette , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been a corporate retail buyer for the last 12 years of my life after graduating with degrees in fashion merchandising as well as a masters in business administration. I started as an assistant buyer for a small chain of women’s boutiques and worked my way up to senior buyer for 70+ stores in hotels all over the country. I recently took a giant leap of faith to start my own retail business- Hey Netty.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not! The retail world is fast paced, competitive, and ever changing but the biggest struggle I’d have to say was Covid. Like many industries, we were unprepared for the challenges it would bring. Our business completely stopped overnight, followed by years of logistical nightmares, supply chain issues, you name it- all of which really sharpened our skills in inventory management and sku optimization.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Hey Netty Retail ?
Hey Netty Retail is a multi-service retail company with facets of our business that are both direct to consumer and B2B. Hey Netty Shops was built on the idea of bringing my knowledge and experience in deal finding to my followers. On the Instagram I post links to products and finds I recommend to my followers as well as resell designer goods on consignment. I also have a very curated online boutique where I sell a versatile assortment of women’s clothing and accessories for a great price. Fashion and interiors go hand in hand so another avenue of my business is Hey Netty Decor through which I offer design and sourcing for my clients home and office spaces. Through HNS & HND I bring the Hey Netty style to the consumer with the goal of elevating everyday living and making them feel like the best version of themselves.

More recently, I started Hey Netty Buys – independent procurement and inventory management for both retailers and B2C brands. This is a cost-effective solution for businesses looking to partner with an experienced buyer to optimize their retail operations.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is freedom. Success is food on the table and love in your home. Success is helping others achieve the same. Success is many things all of which come back to living a meaningful fulfilled life.
