Today we’d like to introduce you to Francesca Merandi-Marandola.
Hi Francesca, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always loved capturing moments and finding creative ways to share them. Living by the beach, I was constantly filming little videos of my life — whether it was at the beach, with friends, or just everyday stuff that felt special. I studied Film Media in college and spent time living in London, where I explored marketing and discovered how powerful social media can be for storytelling and connection. Living there really shifted the way I viewed things and helped me grow in a lot of ways — both personally and creatively.
When I started posting more intentionally — highlighting local businesses, events, and the places I love — I noticed how people responded. My videos started gaining traction and going viral, and I realized there was a real opportunity to not just create content, but build community and help others grow their brands. Now, I work with a mix of small businesses and bigger names, creating short-form videos that blend authenticity with trend-savvy creativity. I still feel like I’m just getting started, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come just by doing what I love.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In the beginning, it was really difficult to get businesses to work with me. I didn’t have much of a portfolio, just a lot of drive and a passion for content creation. I spent hours reaching out, often with no response — and honestly, that part hasn’t changed. I still reach out regularly, I still get rejected, and I’m constantly looking for new businesses to collaborate with. That persistence has helped me grow so much, and over time, I’ve started to build trust and a body of work I’m proud of. It’s still not easy, but I’ve come a long way. I know I’m just getting started, and I’m excited to see where this path takes me.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create short-form video content — mostly TikToks and Reels — that help businesses connect with their audience in a real, engaging way. I specialize in capturing the personality behind a brand and turning it into content that feels natural, fun, and shareable. A lot of my work focuses on Rhode Island-based businesses, which I love because there’s such a strong sense of community here. I get to highlight spots that people might not know about and bring attention to the places that make this state special.
I think what sets me apart is that I don’t just film something and post it — I really care about the story I’m telling. I pay attention to the details, the vibe, the timing, and what’s going to resonate with people. I want viewers to feel something, whether it’s excitement, curiosity, or a sense of connection. I’m most proud of the moments when someone tells me they visited a place because of my video — that means I helped create a real-world impact. That’s what keeps me motivated.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
If there’s something creative you’ve been thinking about doing, start now. You don’t need a huge following or perfect equipment to make something meaningful. Everything I’ve built has come from just showing up, being consistent, and genuinely loving what I do.
