Life & Work with Kholoud Androwis of Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kholoud Androwis.

Hi Kholoud, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Kholoud Androwis. I am a visual artist and identity designer whose journey has been shaped by a lifelong passion for art, travel, history, and culture.

My love for art began in childhood. I was born and raised in Jordan, a country rich in history and architecture, home to the second-best-preserved Roman ruins after Rome itself. Being surrounded by ancient structures and cultural heritage ignited my fascination with both nature and historical storytelling through visuals.

Over the years, my path has taken me across continents. I’ve lived in Dubai, Canada, and various states across the United States, and traveled extensively throughout Europe—including Italy, Austria, and Hungary. These experiences have deeply influenced my creative process and broadened my artistic perspective.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art and Graphic Design, which has allowed me to merge traditional and contemporary approaches to visual expression. My paintings—often created in oil, acrylic, and mixed media on canvas—blend abstract and realistic elements, exploring themes of memory, inner journeys, and human connection.

My most recent body of work, titled The Journey, reflects the emotional landscapes we traverse with the people who cross our paths. It captures moments that become memories, centering on the relationship we build within ourselves and with others. This collection debuted in Miami, where I proudly exhibited and sold three of the ten original pieces.

Throughout my artistic career, I’ve sold work to collectors and art lovers worldwide—from the U.S. and Canada to Australia, Europe, and the Middle East. Prior to The Journey, I explored spiritual themes through a series of paintings portraying Jesus Christ and Christian saints, inspired by my background as a member of Jordan’s Christian minority. These works serve as a testament to my faith and cultural identity.

Living in Canada also nurtured my love for nature, which continues to influence many of my landscape pieces. My Mediterranean heritage adds a vibrant, soulful quality to my art, enriching both the subject matter and the palette I use.

Alongside my fine art practice, I’m also an experienced graphic designer. I help businesses craft their visual identities through logo design, business cards, brand collateral, and digital artwork—combining strategic thinking with artistic flair.

I am deeply inspired by classical art and artists such as Michelangelo, whose ceiling frescoes in the Sistine Chapel captivate me to this day. Another favorite is Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss—a work that continues to move and inspire me with its symbolism and beauty.

Art, for me, is a lifelong journey of exploration, creation, and connection. Whether through a canvas or a brand identity, I aim to leave a lasting impression that resonates with meaning and emotion.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Some of the challenges I faced along the way stemmed from frequent travel and relocation. While living in different countries allowed me to gain valuable exposure to diverse cultures, artistic influences, and ways of life, it also came with instability. Adapting to new environments and navigating the shifting demands of each location often impacted the consistency of my income and required continuous adjustment—both personally and professionally.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work bridges the worlds of fine art and identity design. As a visual artist, I specialize in creating emotionally rich paintings that blend abstract and realistic elements, using oil, acrylic, and mixed media on canvas. My art often explores inner journeys, human connections, cultural memory, and spiritual reflection. Each piece tells a story—whether it’s about personal transformation, moments turned into memories, or the quiet beauty of nature and heritage.

I’m also an identity designer, working with entrepreneurs and creatives to bring their brand visions to life through logo design, brand identity, and visual storytelling. My background in fine art gives me a strong foundation in composition, symbolism, and emotional impact—qualities I bring into every design project.

I’m most proud of how my work has connected with people around the world. My paintings have been exhibited in cities like Miami, Vancouver, Dubai, and Austin, and are now part of private collections across North America, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East.
What sets me apart is the way I fuse art, design, spirituality, and cultural diversity into a cohesive voice. I’ve lived in many countries, and I carry that global perspective into my work. My art isn’t just about what’s on the canvas—it’s about how it makes people feel, what memories it evokes, and the stories it silently tells.

Whether through a painting or a brand, my goal is always the same: to create meaningful, lasting impact through visual expression.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Yes—what I’d love to share is that art is not just about technique or aesthetics; it’s about connection. Whether you’re an artist, a collector, or someone simply drawn to beauty, art has the power to reflect parts of ourselves, our culture, our spirituality, and our shared human experience.

My journey as an artist has been shaped by both challenges and blessings—moving between countries, adapting to new environments, and staying true to my creative voice. Through it all, I’ve learned that creativity thrives when we stay open, curious, and willing to express ourselves honestly.

To anyone following their passion—whether in art, design, or any creative field—know that your voice matters, and the world needs your unique perspective. Keep creating, keep evolving, and trust the process. And if my work resonates with you, I invite you to connect, follow the journey, and be part of the story.
