Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariella Mongiovi.
mariella, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey began as a mother. When my twin daughters were diagnosed with autism, everything changed. I dedicated myself to learning—researching therapies, studying interventions, and trying everything I could to support them. Everything that worked for them, I brought into what later became Crystal Ladder Learning Center, now with locations in Woodbridge, Stouffville, Miami (Doral), and Panama City.
My daughters have always been my greatest inspiration. Through them, I realized the importance of a multidisciplinary approach—blending behavioral therapy, sensory integration, brain training, and more. I saw firsthand that true progress comes when we meet each child’s unique needs with compassion and structure.
To expand this mission beyond our centers, I co-founded the Show Me Your World Autism Foundation, which not only provides financial support and access to therapeutic programs like our dolphin therapy initiative, but also advocates for inclusion and raises awareness in our communities about the realities and potential of individuals with autism.
Today, my daughters are young women who work alongside me. They are living proof that with the right support, belief, and opportunity, every child can flourish.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like anything meaningful, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. We’ve faced many challenges along the way—but we’ve learned from each one.
One of the biggest struggles early on was the lack of information—and the misinformation—surrounding autism. As a mother just starting this journey, it was overwhelming and isolating. That’s why today, one of our main goals is to expand into as many countries as possible: to share what we’ve learned, offer real support, and most importantly, be an example for other families navigating similar paths.
We’re not just building therapy centers—we’re building hope, inclusion, and a community that believes every child deserves the opportunity to shine.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Crystal Ladder Learning Center, we support children diagnosed with autism and developmental differences through a unique model that integrates conventional therapies with a holistic, multidisciplinary approach. We operate in Canada, the United States, and Panama, and everything we do is rooted in real-life experience—especially what has worked for my own daughters.
What sets us apart is how deeply personal our work is. Our programs are designed not just from research, but from lived experience. We bring together a team of professionals who collaborate to meet each child’s unique needs—focusing on their strengths, their potential, and their future.
In addition to Crystal Ladder, I co-founded the Show Me Your World Autism Foundation, which advocates for inclusion, raises awareness in our communities, and provides financial support to families. We also create transformative experiences like our dolphin therapy program, which blends therapy, connection, and adventure.
What I’m most proud of is that we lead by example. My daughters are not only the inspiration behind everything we do—they are proof that with the right support, anything is possible.
Our brand stands for hope, inclusion, and action, and we’re here to walk with every family that needs a place to belong and grow.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
the last 12 years of my life have been fully dedicated to research, learning, and developing our own therapeutic approach at Crystal Ladder. Through this journey, we created our signature framework: “Clear Steps to Success.”
This model is designed and supervised by our head office in Canada and is now being implemented across all our locations. It integrates conventional therapies, such as Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech and Language Therapy (SLP), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and Sensory Integration, with whole-brain training circuits, offering a more complete and individualized path for each child.
“Clear Steps to Success” reflects everything we’ve learned through personal experience and professional collaboration. It’s a roadmap not just for therapy, but for empowering children to reach their full potential—emotionally, socially, academically, and beyond.
More than a center, we are a movement—one that believes in every child, every family, and every possibility.
