My journey into photography wasn’t a straight line, it was more like a winding path filled with creative exploration, resilience, and a deep love for storytelling. I always had an eye for art and design, which led me to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts and later a Master’s in Communication and Design. But it wasn’t until I picked up a camera and started capturing the subtle, fleeting moments of human connection that I truly felt at home.
I started my photography business over a decade ago, focusing on weddings and portraits. It was a natural fit for me – the blend of technical skill, artistic expression, and personal connection that comes with documenting people’s most significant moments. Over the years, I’ve refined my style, built meaningful relationships with clients, and created a brand that reflects both my artistic vision and my commitment to delivering an exceptional experience. Today, Brashleigh Photography stands as a testament to that journey: a creative studio dedicated to telling love stories with authenticity, elegance, and heart.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been anything but smooth, and I wouldn’t trade a single twist or turn. Like many creatives, I faced the challenges of balancing passion with practicality. There were times early on when I questioned whether I could make photography sustainable, when I worried about financial instability, and when I faced the inevitable self-doubt that comes with running your own business.
The pandemic also brought its own unique challenges, forcing me to adapt quickly to changing client needs and to rethink the way I approached both the business and the art of photography. But every challenge was also a lesson. I learned resilience, patience, and the importance of evolving not just my skills but also my mindset. I came to understand that building a business – and a life – rooted in creativity requires both vulnerability and GRIT.

At the heart of my work is a deep reverence for the quiet moments: the glances, the soft touches, the gentle laughter that often slip by unnoticed but carry the weight of a story. I specialize in wedding and portrait photography, and my images are a tribute to the delicate interplay of light, composition, and emotion. Each photograph is an invitation to pause and feel something real and lasting.
What sets me apart is not just technical skill but the ability to create an environment where clients feel truly seen and at ease. I approach every session with the intention of capturing not just a likeness but an essence — a reflection of love, joy, and those real bonds that weave people together. By embracing natural light and staying forever a student of its subtle magic, I’m able to reveal the genuine beauty in every setting.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me, the invitation into the intimate spaces of their lives to capture something honest and beautiful. Photography, for me, is not just about freezing time, but about creating images that breathe with emotion and light. Who else deserves credit in your story?
Without a doubt, my mother deserves the most credit. She is and has always been my biggest fan and the driving force behind becoming my best self. From the beginning, she believed in me, sometimes even more than I believed in myself. Her support wasn’t just about encouragement: it was about showing me what it means to work hard, to persevere, and to stay true to who I am.
Every challenge I’ve faced, every milestone I’ve reached, has been made possible because of her quiet, steadfast presence in my life. Her faith in me has given me the confidence to push forward, to believe in my vision, and to build a business that reflects the values she instilled in me. I can truly say that her unwavering support has shaped not only my career, but the person I am today.
