Inspiring Conversations with Mariana Zuluaga of Aigle Bakery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariana Zuluaga.

Hi Mariana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi I’m Mariana and I founded with my mom Johanna Franco as my business partner, Aigle bakery back in 2013 in Colombia selling cupcakes to friends and family, years later I accepted an internship to work for one of the best pastry chefs based here in Miami and that way learn and earn more expertise, so we packed our luggages with my family and move from Colombia to Miami, with the experience and love for what I do, I decided to open Aigle bakery here in Miami, so now we work through our social media and serving our lovely costumers for any occasion

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Yes of course, there’s always hard obstacles but we consider that everything is experience, and having challenges from moving abroad and getting used to a new country to small ones like forgetting to add an ingredient to a recipe,

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
When we started back in Colombia our menu was full of custom cakes and cupcakes but now we are focus in custom brownies, you can have a funny, cute and lovely personalized messages with our brownies so that way you can surprise your loved ones

How do you define success?
In my family we have been through tough times health related, my dad almost died in 2017 for example, but now he is doing fine, and so this has been times where we have reflect and realice there’s nothing more important than enjoy life, and the present moment, so success for me is able to enjoy your victories everyday that even if wasn’t a good day there’s always something to be grateful for
