Hi Bianca, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
People dream of many things – for me, it’s all about cuteness. From design to storytelling I love things that make people smile. In 2013, I stepped away from my full-time job as an attorney at a local non profit to focus on raising my three little ones. During that time friends and family started having babies of their own, and I began to realize how hard it was to find a baby gift that truly felt complete—something beautiful, functional, and filled with intention.
I started curating my own gifts using products I personally used and loved. Shortly thereafter, Dreams of Cuteness was born—first as an idea to start a business that made a difference, then officially coming to life in 2015 as an online shop. The original product, the Bebox, is a luxury baby gift box filled with handpicked items new parents need (and love!). It was designed to be more than just a memorable gift – it is also a way to give back. With every Bebox purchased, we donate another to a family in need. It’s a simple, meaningful way to help others. Our 10 year anniversary this May is fast approaching and we are excited to be relaunching a new, elevated Bebox that has been in the works for some time.
From our simple beginning, Dreams of Cuteness has grown into a full children’s boutique filled with carefully curated apparel, accessories, and some thoughtfully selected products for moms and dads too. We even have our own app now! When I started the business it was just myself working from home and now we are a small team that works out of our dream location: our HQ on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach. As a woman-owned and operated small business, we take pride in being personally involved in every detail: from selecting the best brands to packing each order with love and care. We work with the brands we believe in and that have shared values like an ethical and sustainable approach to fashion. We believe in building genuine connections with our customers and creating a shopping experience that’s seamless and effortless.
At the heart of everything we do is our mission to support families—both through the products we offer and the impact we make. We’re so grateful for every single customer who chooses to shop with us and helps us spread a little love (and cuteness!) to families around the world.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road definitely wasn’t smooth at the start! While I had experience as a consumer, I had no background in retail, which made it challenging to navigate the industry. I didn’t know anything about trade shows, how to set up a website, or even how to write an order that was right for our store. One thing about me, though, is that I’m not afraid to try new things or to fail. I’ve always believed that with dedication and effort, we can learn to do almost anything.
There was a lot of trial and error in most aspects of the business, but I learned from my mistakes. Along the way, I was fortunate to meet some incredible people who shared their knowledge and expertise with me. Over the years, I’ve developed strong relationships with reps from our brands, which have been absolutely crucial to our growth.
For example, when we were upgrading the Bebox, we wanted to include custom items that would be exclusive to us, but I had no idea where to start with manufacturing. I reached out to a rep from one of our top brands, and he walked me through the entire process. He even helped me put together our tech pack—something I never would have thought to ask for, but it made the process so much easier. As in any industry, some of these colleagues have turned into friends, which has been a great bonus.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At Dreams of Cuteness, I wear many hats—as founder, creative director, buyer, and even website manager. I’m involved in every part of the business, and that’s exactly how I like it. I oversee everything from each item we carry to the way our brand looks and feels online. I take a hands-on approach because I believe the details matter—especially when you’re creating something for children who are some of the most important people in our lives.
As the buyer, I personally select every item in our store with two things in mind: style and comfort. It might be adorable, but if it’s not comfy enough, a child won’t want to wear it. The child is always at the heart of my decision-making. Our collection is meant to feel elevated and playful but also totally wearable and functional.
I’m also a very creative person, and one of my favorite parts of the job is directing our photo shoots. We create our own content for social media and our website, which means we’re shooting regularly. We have worked with the same photographer for almost a decade and we have such a great creative rhythm that photo shoot days are always a highlight. I serve as the art director for each campaign, from dreaming up the story and styling the looks to working directly with our adorable models. It’s one of the ways we keep our brand ethos unique, fun, and full of personality.
One of the things we’re most proud of at Dreams of Cuteness is the impact we’re able to make through our mission to give back. From the very beginning, our Bebox program has been at the heart of what we do—ensuring that for every box purchased, another is donated to a family in need. Over the years, we’ve partnered with local organizations to support the families in our community who need it most, and we also donate in-kind to various nonprofits throughout the year to expand our reach and deepen our impact. We’re so grateful to our customers, whose support allows us to turn every purchase into a chance to do something good.
What sets Dreams of Cuteness apart is our handpicked curation. In a time when we are documenting our lives more than ever, the clothes and accessories we live our lives in become part of the memories we hold onto, even long after we outgrow them. That is why we put so much thought into every item we carry. Our customers know they can trust anything they find in our shop to meet a certain standard of quality, comfort, and cuteness. We truly value our customers and they appreciate knowing the real people behind the business. Consistency in the experience we deliver—and the people behind it—is what I believe keeps people coming back.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me are the details. Taking that extra bit of time to be meticulous and add our personal touch is what makes all the difference. There are plenty of places to shop, but I believe customers come back when they feel a real connection—when they can tell we genuinely care. We put love into everything we do, whether it’s carefully packing each order, adding a handwritten note for a returning customer, or going the extra mile for a special request. It’s those thoughtful, not-quite-necessary steps that show people we’re paying attention—and that we truly want to make the extra effort to go above and beyond.
