Hi Melanie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into the world of luxury interior design is deeply rooted in my European heritage. Born and raised in Austria, I was surrounded by a culture that values tradition and craftsmanship. This upbringing instilled in me a profound appreciation for refined aesthetics. My experiences living and working in Paris, the South of France, England, and Milan further enriched my design sensibilities, allowing me to seamlessly blend timeless elegance with contemporary innovation.
After being involved with a few investment properties myself, I founded CURATED., a Miami Beach-based luxury home design studio. Our focus is on delivering inspiring, high-end interiors for luxury residence projects across South Florida, the United States, the Caribbean, and select European destinations. As the CEO and Creative Director, I lead a talented team dedicated to manifesting captivating spaces that evoke distinction and convey a palpable sense of extraordinary living.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The path to establishing CURATED. has been filled with both challenges and triumphs. One significant challenge was integrating design sensibilities into the diverse and dynamic markets we serve, ensuring that our creations resonate with a global clientele while maintaining a unique identity. Additionally, leading a multidisciplinary team requires continuous learning and adaptation to harmonize various creative visions into cohesive and luxurious designs.
Another challenge has been maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and detail while working with tight timelines and logistical constraints. Our design demands perfection, and finding the right materials, artisans, and contractors—while ensuring seamless execution—can be complex, especially when working on projects across different regions. Balancing efficiency with uncompromising quality is an ongoing challenge, but it is one that defines the excellence we strive for at CURATED.

This concept combines our curated design expertise with an expedited execution process, allowing us to transform spaces with elegance and efficiency. It’s a solution that resonates with investors, real estate developers, and homeowners who seek both beauty and convenience.
