Meet Racquel Domonique & Jermaine Wright of The Marriage Funshop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Racquel Domonique & Jermaine Wright

Hi Racquel Domonique & Jermaine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Racquel Domonique and Jermaine have been married for over two decades, and their journey together has been shaped by a deep passion for marriage, family life, and service in the community. Their shared commitment to fostering strong, healthy relationships led them to create The Marriage Funshop, an interactive experience designed to help couples reconnect, communicate effectively, and rediscover the joy in their marriages.

Jermaine, a dedicated husband and father, has always been passionate about personal growth and relationship dynamics. His journey began with a desire to improve his own marriage, which evolved into a commitment to helping other couples achieve lasting happiness and fulfillment. In addition to his role in The Marriage Funshop, Jermaine is an FAA-certified Aircraft Inspector and a business partner with Racquel in various entrepreneurial and philanthropic ventures. He is dedicated to giving back to the community, especially in supporting the fatherless and widows, and continuously studies relationship dynamics and counseling techniques to enhance the work they do.

Racquel, an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and author of For Better Days (available on Amazon), has devoted years of research to understanding and strengthening family life, with a particular emphasis on marriage. Along with Jermaine, she has created multiple online communities, including Topflight Marriage and Family TV, Ten Thousand Godly Wives, and Christian Wives and Husbands, providing platforms to support and encourage couples. They also host the Topflight TV Family Podcast, where strategies for building strong, faith-centered relationships are the focal point. Beyond marriage advocacy, Racquel is a health enthusiast and founder of the Healthy Habits | Topflight Health community on Facebook, Instagram and Youtube. She has earned certification through the Heartsmart program at the Ronald O. Perelman Heart Institute, working to spread awareness about cardiovascular health, particularly in Black and Latino communities.

Together, Racquel and Jermaine actively serve as leaders in Family Life Ministries. Through The Marriage Funshop, they provide couples with an engaging and uplifting experience that blends fun, faith, and practical wisdom to strengthen marriages. Their mission is clear—to help couples not just survive, but thrive in their relationships, ensuring that love, laughter, and commitment remain at the heart of every marriage they touch.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all! Like any journey worth taking, there have been challenges along the way. When we started The Marriage Funshop, we knew we had a vision to help couples strengthen their relationships, but translating that vision into something tangible wasn’t always easy. We had to figure out how to make our sessions engaging, interactive, and truly impactful—something different from the typical marriage conference or counseling session. That meant a lot of trial and error, refining our approach, and staying committed even when things didn’t go as planned.”

Another challenge was getting couples to step out of their comfort zones. Many people assume that if their marriage isn’t in crisis, they don’t need to invest in it. But we believe that great marriages are built through intentionality, not just survival. Convincing couples to prioritize their relationship before problems arise has been an ongoing challenge, but when they experience the Marriage FunShop, they always tell us how much they needed it.

Balancing our personal and professional lives has also been a hurdle. We’re not just business partners; we’re husband and wife, parents, soon to be grandparents and ministry leaders. Making sure that our own marriage stays strong while pouring into others requires discipline and constant self-check-ins. But through it all, we’ve learned that the bumps in the road are what make the journey worthwhile. They’ve refined us, strengthened our message, and helped us connect with couples on a deeper level. The struggles have only made us more passionate about our mission.

As you know, we’re big fans of The Marriage Funshop. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Wow. So much to share.
We never took the time to study our competitors because we don’t view helping and serving others as something to compete over. It wasn’t until we were done writing and ran a few VMRs (Virtual Marriage Retreats through the Marriage Funshop) that we decided to see what other programs were out there that were similar to what we were doing at the Marriage Funshop. We soon realize that those that were more recognized had a larger social media following and been more established than we were but did not offer the unique approach we took. Instead of being anxious about progressing based on the information we uncovered, we decided to focus on our mission and vision, stay intentional and be patient.

So, for those who are just starting out in the online business space, our biggest piece of advice is to be patient and intentional. Building an online presence takes time, and engagement doesn’t happen overnight. Consistency is key—show up regularly, provide value, and genuinely connect with your audience.

One thing we wish we knew earlier is the importance of niching down and focusing on a specific audience. The internet is vast, and trying to appeal to everyone can dilute the message. Instead, speak directly to the people who need what you offer and build strong relationships with them.

Additionally, invest in learning digital marketing, social media strategies, and online business operations. Understanding SEO, email marketing, and content creation in this space can help you maximize your reach and impact. Also, don’t be afraid to pivot and adapt based on feedback—what works for one audience may not work for another, so stay flexible and keep improving.

Lastly, prioritize balance. Running an online business means the work never truly stops, so setting boundaries and making time for your own marriage and personal life is essential. If your own relationship is thriving, it will reflect in your business and the couples you serve.
