Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Ramirez
Hi Anthony, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My father was an entrepreneur growing up. He was always an idol to me as a kid. My parents Tony and Cindy owned a family owned business. Since then I’ve always been driven to owning a business. Growing up I always had a passion with buying and restoring things. In 2019 my first golf cart I bought was just before the start of Covid. I paid $400 dollars and it even came with a charger. It was a 2008 EZGO TXT 48 volt. And it was nothing more than a stock golf course cart. I started buying old used golf carts and building them out of my home garage in Boynton Beach. I started painting them offering custom colors, lifting them and even doing my own upholstery. The time approached when I decided to create a business name and open business accounts. I logged into sunbiz and created a catchy business name, Carts Gon’ Wild LLC. In 2021 I discovered the wholesale golf cart market. I began purchasing off lease golf carts from courses all over the United States. I sold and distributed golf carts all over the US and internationally to the Bahamas and surrounding islands. In 2023 I opened my first commercial location where I own a shop and build high end custom golf carts and operate a dealership selling brand LSV street legal golf carts. I have become a dealer for Nivel and Redhawk, Eco Battery for lithium solutions, Modz and Xtreme Sound for aftermarket accessories and parts. My future goals are continuing growing in the community. The most important thing to me is that my clients are stratified with the products I sold and service that I provided. This is not only a business but a passion I have.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In the beginning it was awesome. Sales were high, people were bored at home during the pandemic factories didn’t produce a lot of brand new golf carts. All golf courses lease the golf carts. Almost all everybody extended their leases. What that created was a shortage of used carts. I remember when icon was released. They were brand new carts that were cheaper to the consumer. Then followed several other makes and models that started spilling into the market. I felt as if the market was extremely washed out. Business has its ups and downs. There will be better years than others. What’s important, keep a good name for yourself, that will keep you in business. You provide a great service to the community they will remember you and refer you to friends and family.
We’ve been impressed with Carts Gon’ Wild LLC , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own a golf cart business where I specialize in modifications to mostly club cars. I have worked on Yamaha, EZGO, Club Car, Bentelli, Advanced EV, Moke, westerns, evolution and Epic golf carts. I became an authorized dealer for ECO Battery, Bolt Energy and Allied battery. Parts distribution for Nivel and Redhawk. Aftermarket accessories and parts for Modz, HD wheels and lazy life seats. I offer clients the ability to create their own personalized golf cart machine. From adding aftermarket audio systems to changing out motor and controllers for increased speed, lithium conversions, custom paint and upholstery we do it all. What you should
Know is you have more options when it comes to a custom build. There are more aftermarket products available for the big three. Club Car, EZGO and Yamaha.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Grow up as a kid I started early as an entrepreneur. I collected golf balls
Around the golf course canals. I took them home, organized and cleaned them. I collected egg cartons were I organized the different makes. I then set up a stand along the cart path and sold them back to the golfers. As a juvenile I enjoyed buying jet skis, lawn mowers and motorcycles and making them come back to life. I used to restore them and it became hobby of mine. My personality was very outgoing. I can talk to anybody.
