Today we’d like to introduce you to François Piacente
Hi François, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been passionate about storytelling and crafting things in general.
After exploring various mediums, the world of miniature art found its way to me about 8 years ago. It started as a hobby for myself, but quickly gained attention from people online after I created my Instagram account dedicated to my craft.
My brand grew organically by staying consistent in showcasing my art on social media, as well as attending social and art events across the country.
Through in-person interactions, I was able to express my thoughts and way of living authentically, establishing trust that led to opportunities to showcase my art in galleries and various shows.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Although miniature art is a very niche field, it took me some time to find the exact theme or atmosphere that brought me great satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment, while also captivating an interested crowd and art collectors.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a miniature artist specializing in Art Deco architecture and automotive art. What sets me apart from others is my attention to detail.
I focus on small details that tell a whole story, rather than just the big picture. I’m known for adding cars as main characters to my miniature scenes, which further enhances the storytelling. I have the most fun building fictional scenes, where my passion for crafting and storytelling merge. I get to create an entire world from scratch – extremely realistic, yet entirely imaginary.
Think Grand Theft Auto 6 but tangible and not digital. The world of GTA is such a source of inspiration for my art.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
It was actually a way to reset life, like for many other people.
I tend to see the positive in every situation. That would be that for this unfortunate event.
