Life & Work with Michael Joseph of Palm Beach Gardens

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Joseph

Hi Michael, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Boynton Beach, FL, and growing up, I was always drawn to the entertainment industry. At local arts schools, including A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, I studied theater alongside a few of the best talents, including a few members of The Hot Seat. Those years shaped my creative core and deepened my passion for the arts. Though I’m not a musician, I’ve always been inspired by music icons who pushed boundaries. When offered the opportunity to manage The Hot Seat, it seemed like a no-brainer of an opportunity.

In college, my interests expanded to entrepreneurship, with a passion for blending art and business. I honed my skills at the University of Central Florida (UCF), studying Film and Entrepreneurship. There, I interned and contracted with startups and small businesses, leveraging my creative vision, camera expertise, and growing business knowledge to enhance their marketing. These experiences became key lessons in the fundamentals of my business today.

It’s a thrill to manage a group as talented as The Hot Seat and a privilege to showcase local talent!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As passionate as everyone in the band is, our biggest obstacle is balancing work, personal life, and band commitments. With so many other demands in life, members of the band often found themselves prioritizing the band tasks last. So our first step was to find a way to weave the band into our daily routines. Once we started meeting regularly, many of the band’s challenges began to resolve.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Alongside managing The Hot Seat, I’m also the co-founder of Grit Bowls Catering, a food venture serving bowls of creamy grits at festivals and food markets, where you can choose unlimited toppings to your liking. You’ll also catch me assisting other entrepreneurs with digital services or sharing marketing expertise.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I feel blessed to have attended A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, where I met Ben, a gifted musician and songwriter—and Carolyn, who was a vocal major and makes commanding center stage look effortless. We’re all fortunate to have crossed paths and now have the privilege of working together.
