Hi Darrisha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Allow me to re-introduce myself as Luxurish, Luxury Cosmetics and Apparel. My Entrepreneur dreams all started a decade ago, I first grew interested in the new beauty technique arising as eyelash extensions while enrolled in college at University of Central Florida in 2015. In 2016, I took the leap of faith and invested in myself through a training course of classic eyelash extensions. As a certified eyelash technician, I began to grow my business LuvMinks, LLC and networked all over Orlando, FL and surrounding areas. I would lash part-time around my full-time school schedule, then on weekends and holidays, I would travel to Miami, FL, to service clients and family.
After months of dedication, I decided to invest in myself in 2018 and complete an intermediate lash course of volume eyelash extensions and invest again in learning eyebrow techniques. Over the years, I have had the honor to connect with hundreds of women and men, share my entrepreneur secrets, teach others how to invest in themselves and learn a skill that would last a lifetime.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at ALL! Entrepreneurship is never smooth. There were many rebrands and reconstruction of my business over the years, finding the perfect location between Central and South Florida, lashing part-time while working full-time in my career. My biggest struggle was starting a business in Orlando, far away from my hometown of Miami, FL. I had to double my networking skills, travel throughout the city and nearby areas, and meet new people to gain clientele.
As you know, we’re big fans of Luxurish. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a Beauty Cosmetics and Apparel Business. Offering natural beauty enhancement services such as eyelash extensions and eyebrow tint. Shop Motivation Apparel for all genders and ages. We will be offering a brand new service for makeup enhancements. Traveling services are available for Miami and Broward, also group bookings.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Never stop learning, take a break when needed, but always keep your dream alive!
