Hidden Gems: Meet Victoria Hall of Soccer Stars

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Hall

Hi Victoria, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started playing football (soccer) when I was a wee Bairn growing up on the East end of Glasgow, where there was not a team or league for girls. So, I joined the boys for pick-up games—though I was not allowed to play on their team! But that did not stop me. I loved the game, and my passion grew with every touch on the ball. In high school, my friends and I formed a girls’ team and convinced our French teacher to coach us. We wore the boys’ old uniforms for practice and games, but we wore them with pride as we worked to improve.

That drive did not go unnoticed. I was recruited to play for East Kilbride Ladies—at just 14, I was the youngest on the team, surrounded by adults, but that only pushed me to be better. Soon after, I was given the opportunity to try out for the U20 Scottish Women’s National Team. Unfortunately, an injury prevented me from stepping on the field with the team, but it did not take away from my passion for the game.

My journey continued when I earned a full scholarship to play at Northwood University in Dallas, Texas, where I captained the team as a sophomore and started every match. After college, I played for semi-pro teams in Texas, Utah, and Virginia before settling in Virginia to start my coaching career. I earned my National “A” Coaching License and became a coaching education instructor for United Soccer Coaches and USSF Grassroots courses. Along the way, I had the privilege of working with some of the best clubs on the East Coast and learning from mentors who shaped my understanding of the game.
However, watching one of my mentors struggle to adapt to the evolving trends in soccer made me realize I needed to find a way to stay in the game for the long haul, in a way that felt true to my vision. That is when Soccer Stars came into my life. I was introduced to the company while teaching a soccer course, and when I saw the opening for a coaching coordinator in DC, I jumped at the chance. From that moment, I was hooked.

I am deeply passionate about what Soccer Stars stand for—introducing the beautiful game to kids and creating a lifelong love of soccer. The impact of that first experience with sports is something I know lasts forever, and I want every child who walks into our classes to have that joy, that sense of excitement, and that core memory that will stay with them for years to come.

Every step of my journey has been driven by an unwavering belief in the power of sport to shape lives, and I am excited to continue making a difference in the world of soccer, one child at a time.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Sports have long been a male-dominated arena, and along the way, I’ve faced my share of challenges—whether it was enduring inappropriate comments or being overlooked and talked over. These experiences, while frustrating, only strengthened my resolve to carve out my space in the game and continue pushing for change.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Soccer Stars is a premier provider of children’s soccer programs, with over 20 years of experience in developing young athletes. We specialize in offering a unique, age-appropriate curriculum designed to enhance soccer skills, foster self-confidence, and nurture essential socialization abilities. Serving children as young as 1 year old, we are proud to be the most popular choice for soccer education for young players.

Under the leadership of Victoria Hall, a seasoned expert in youth soccer development, Soccer Stars stands out for its commitment to excellence. As a Coaching Educator for US Soccer, Victoria’s expertise is a cornerstone of the Soccer Stars program.

What truly sets us apart is our dedication to providing a holistic approach to youth development. Our programs don’t just teach soccer; they emphasize life skills that are critical in a child’s growth—teamwork, leadership, resilience, and communication. We focus on nurturing each child’s potential in a fun, supportive, and safe environment.

We take pride in being the trusted choice for families across Miami, Virginia, and DC, offering a blend of fun and structured learning experiences that make Soccer Stars stand out from the rest. Our goal is to empower children, instilling not only athletic abilities but also important life lessons, creating future leaders both on and off the field.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned throughout my journey is the significance of maintaining a balance between professional commitment and family. As the Director of Soccer Stars, I’ve always prioritized creating a high-quality product that not only develops soccer skills but also builds confidence and socialization in children. However, I’ve realized that to truly succeed, it’s essential to never compromise on the values that matter most—both to our clients and to ourselves.

This means staying true to our mission, even in the face of pressures to cut costs or make changes that might dilute the quality of our offerings. At the same time, I’ve come to understand that family is everything. It’s crucial not to sacrifice precious time with loved ones while striving for excellence in the business. Finding that equilibrium—delivering top-notch programs while also nurturing a fulfilling personal life—is the foundation of long-term success and happiness. By upholding both our commitment to excellence and the well-being of those closest to us, we create a sustainable path forward for everyone involved.
