Hi Vlada, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my journey in the beauty industry in 2015 in Kazakhstan. It began with makeup – I prepared clients for their special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays. In 2016, I opened my own beauty studio called “Grimerka,” bringing together a strong team of professionals that quickly became highly sought-after.
We participated in fashion shows and collaborated with well-known personalities, creating stylish looks and highlighting the individuality of each client. Later, I added hair extensions using small and safe capsules to my services, which gained significant interest and quickly became a growing part of my work. My next goal was to share my expertise – I conducted individual and group training sessions, helping aspiring professionals elevate their skills.
In 2022, my life took a dramatic turn when I won the Green Card lottery. I made a bold decision to sell my studio and move to Miami to start everything from scratch.
Today, I am successfully developing my new project, “VL Beauty.” In my work, I continue to create magic – preparing brides for their special moments, crafting unique looks, and giving women confidence and beauty. Every day, I am grateful for the opportunity to walk this path, which fills my life with inspiration.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road hasn’t always been smooth, but every challenge I faced shaped me and made me stronger. Of course, there were obstacles, but I always approached them with determination and quickly found solutions. The most significant challenge, and at the same time my greatest leap forward, was starting from scratch in Miami. Moving to a new country where no one knows you and having to re-establish yourself, despite 8 years of experience and expertise, was both intimidating and inspiring.
This step became a turning point in my career. It not only strengthened my skills but also inspired me to expand my services by adding hairstyling. And today, I create complete looks. This has allowed me to highlight the beauty of my clients on a deeper level, adding harmony and a sense of completeness to their images. This experience of starting from scratch wasn’t just a challenge – it was a catalyst for growth and the foundation for the work I am proud to do today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a makeup artist and hairstylist, I specialize in creating unique and flawless looks for my clients’ most important moments, including weddings, special events, and photoshoots. What sets me apart is my ability to recognize each client’s individuality and highlight their natural beauty. I prioritize individuality and natural elegance in every look I create.
I am particularly proud of my expertise in hair extensions using the K-tip technique with small and safe capsules. I work exclusively with natural children’s hair, which is highly valued by my clients for its exceptional quality and care.
My dedication to my craft allows me to offer a wide range of services, creating harmonious and polished looks that leave a lasting impression. What I’m most proud of is that in 10 years of working in the beauty industry, I have never once considered changing my career. At the age of 16, I already knew exactly who I wanted to become, and today, I can confidently say that I have found my true calling. I am 100% committed to this path and look forward to continuing to grow in this field!
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
For me, success is defined by the trust and loyalty of my clients. It’s not just about creating beautiful looks – it’s about building relationships where clients feel confident and excited to return. Their glowing reviews, word-of-mouth recommendations, and continued trust in my work are the truest markers of success for me. Knowing that I’ve made a difference in someone’s special day or helped them feel their absolute best is what inspires me to grow and improve every single day.
