Hidden Gems: Meet Domonique Worship of Domonique Worship Coaching & Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Domonique Worship

Hi Domonique, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey has been anything but linear, and looking back, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I graduated from Harvard Law and started my career as a corporate attorney at a large Wall Street law firm. I later transitioned to the NBA, where I served as Senior Associate Counsel and later, Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion. On paper, it looked like I was living the dream—I was checking all of the boxes, climbing the ladder, and achieving what many would call success.

But deep down, I felt disconnected. My identity was so wrapped up in meeting expectations—my own and those I thought others had for me—that I wasn’t pausing to ask myself what I truly wanted. Even when the work no longer felt aligned, I kept pushing, feeling like I owed it to everyone who had believed in me and invested in my success.

The decision to step off of that path was quite daunting, but it was also the most liberating and empowering choice I’ve ever made. I founded my company to support other high-achieving women navigating the same struggles I faced—perfectionism, misalignment, and the constant push to do more without asking if it’s what they really want.

Today, I have the privilege of coaching incredible women to unlock their full potential and helping organizations create spaces where women can thrive. My work is rooted in everything I’ve learned along the way: the importance of alignment, purposeful impact, and the beauty of stepping into a life and career that feel true to who you are.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road hasn’t always been smooth, but I’ve learned that the greatest growth often comes from the bumps and detours along the way. One of my biggest challenges was breaking free from the mindset that my worth was tied to my performance. For so long, I measured success by how much I could achieve, how hard I worked, and how others perceived me. Even when I felt unfulfilled, I kept pushing forward, thinking I had to prove myself to others—and to myself.

Walking away from the corporate ladder to create a career and life that felt truly aligned was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made. It required me to let go of the expectations I thought I had to meet and face a lot of fear and uncertainty about what was next. I had to unlearn perfectionism, practice setting boundaries, and build trust in my own instincts—things that are still a work in progress.

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is the importance of self-compassion. It’s so easy to be your own toughest critic, especially when you’re navigating uncharted territory, but learning to celebrate progress over perfection has been a game-changer for me. Another lesson is the power of alignment—when you take the time to get clear on what truly matters to you and create space for those things, everything changes.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My firm specializes in supporting driven leaders and high-impact organizations to unlock their full potential. My work is twofold: I partner with organizations to foster Exceptional Alignment within their teams, and I empower individual leaders to align their strengths, values, and purpose to create deeply fulfilling lives and careers. A key focus of my work is addressing perfectionism—both for individuals and within organizational systems. Through one-on-one coaching, interactive workshops, and strategic consulting, I guide clients through pivotal transformations that lead to enhanced performance, meaningful impact, and sustainable success.

What sets my business apart is the deeply personal and holistic approach I take. I don’t believe in cookie-cutter solutions, and this isn’t just about checking boxes or achieving surface-level results—it’s about creating lasting change. For individuals, that means aligning who they are with what they do, so they can lead fulfilling, impactful lives. For organizations, it means investing in their people and creating resilient, high-performing teams where everyone has the space to thrive.

What I’m most proud of is creating a space where women feel seen, supported, and inspired to dream bigger. My platform is about more than achieving goals—it’s about creating lives and careers that feel deeply aligned with who they are and the impact they want to have on the world.

If there’s one thing I want readers to know about my brand, it’s that success doesn’t have to come at the expense of joy, alignment, or authenticity. I’m here to help my clients achieve extraordinary things while staying true to who they are.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I couldn’t do any of this without my incredible support system. My husband, family, and close friends have been my greatest cheerleaders, celebrating every win and showing up for me in countless ways. They’ve always believed in me, even when I wasn’t sure I believed in myself, and their unwavering support has been a constant source of strength.

I’ve also been incredibly fortunate to have mentors and sponsors who have played a pivotal role in my career. They believed in me, saw potential in me, and championed me at moments when I needed it most. Their support not only helped open doors but also gave me the confidence to walk through them. Experiencing firsthand how impactful their belief and advocacy were for my career inspired me to pay it forward.

Success is never a solo effort, and I’m profoundly grateful for the people who have poured into me and supported me along the way. Their influence not only shaped my journey, but also fuels my desire to do the same for others.
