Conversations with Adriana Hummel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Hummel.

For readers who are meeting you for the first time, can you share a little bit about who you are, what you do, and how your journey has brought you to where you are today.
I’m a 35-year-old mother of two—Maya and Aiden—living in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While I grew up here, I ventured off to attend the University of Central Florida, where I graduated and began shaping my dreams. I’ve always been passionate about traveling, fashion, designing, and fitness, and I love exploring new restaurants and cuisines.

I’m the founder of an e-commerce business specializing in bamboo children’s clothing, which caters to babies through adults. It all began in 2017 when I started creating turbans for my baby girl. Those designs went viral, worn by Hollywood babies, featured in magazines, and led to exciting collaborations with iconic brands like Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake.

My journey has been driven by discipline, passion, and a deep love for what I do, and it’s shaped me into the business owner and mother I am today.

How has Sweet Peas grown or evolved since we last spoke?
Since our last interview, Sweet Peas has grown in incredible ways! In 2022, Care Bears invited us to collaborate for their 40th anniversary, which inspired me to expand our product line. By March 2023, we launched bamboo pajamas, dresses, headbands, turbans—and sold out immediately. Two weeks later, Strawberry Shortcake reached out and wanted to work with me! I knew Sweet Peas was headed in the right direction for growth and success. I connected with a friend of mine, Danielle Marder, who has excellent branding and consumer products skills and asked her if she’d like to join me as COO of Sweet Peas Co and taking it to the next level. Together we are bringing on new partnerships and expanding our product line. Sweet Peas is reaching new heights, and we’re focused on creating collections that bring moms back to their childhood while their little ones rock iconic brands. We got selected to be the pajama apparel partner for the Limited Edition, first-ever, Strawberry Shortcake x Care Bears collaboration where we created a Luxe Lace pajama collection for moms and kids. Most recently, we launched our Rainbow Brite x Sweet Peas collection which has fans filled with excitement and selling out products already! All collections are available on our website, www.sweetpeasco.com. The best is yet to come!

What are your goals for Sweet Peas and your personal brand in the next year?
For Sweet Peas, my goal is to continue building a brand that mothers instinctively turn to for their children’s clothing—whether it’s for daytime adventures or cozy bedtime routines. We aim to secure more nostalgic licenses to expand our portfolio, allowing families to enjoy iconic brands that bring a sense of joy and nostalgia. Additionally, we’re committed to growing our core line, delivering high-quality, versatile pieces that blend comfort and style seamlessly.

As for my personal brand, my vision is to inspire women in all aspects of life—whether it’s pursuing a healthier lifestyle, embracing fashion, traveling the world, navigating motherhood, or chasing entrepreneurial dreams. I want to show that it’s possible to juggle it all with passion and purpose while staying true to who you are. My goal is to be a relatable voice, a motivator, and a source of encouragement for anyone striving to live their fullest life.

How do you feel your business and personal story has inspired others?
In addition to Sweet Peas, I’m also building my personal brand as Adriana Hummel. People often come to me for advice and guidance, whether it’s about parenting, fashion, travel, or building confidence. I’ve been fortunate to share my experiences as a mom of two, a wife, a business owner, and someone who has traveled to 38 countries. Through my Instagram platform, I aim to inspire women—especially moms—to pursue their dreams, take care of themselves, and live life fully.

What’s most exciting about this journey is how I get to connect with people. I love being a resource for others, whether they need tips on how to juggle motherhood and business, ideas for their next travel destination, or simply a reminder that they’re capable of so much more than they think. Adriana Hummel is all about empowering women to live boldly and authentically while showing them that it’s okay to embrace every part of who they are.

What makes this work special is the impact I see it having. Whether it’s a message from a mom who feels inspired to start her own business, someone who’s been motivated to prioritize self-care, or a parent who loves Sweet Peas for their child, it’s incredibly rewarding to know I’ve made a difference!

At the core of everything I do is my desire to connect, uplift, and create. Whether I’m designing new products for Sweet Peas or sharing my life as Adriana Hummel, I’m driven by the belief that we all have the power to shape the lives we want—and I’m here to encourage others to take that bold step forward.

How have your kids or family influenced your work or inspired new ideas?
Sweet Peas was born when I became a mom to my daughter. I’ve always had a love for fashion and dressing up, so naturally, I wanted her to wear the latest trends too. But I quickly realized there wasn’t much out there that was both stylish and functional—especially for hair accessories—so I created my first turban. That simple idea blossomed into something bigger than I ever imagined.

Now, my kids continue to inspire me every day. They’re like my own little focus group, constantly sharing what they like, what their friends are wearing, and even giving feedback on designs. Seeing their excitement when new collections come to life is truly motivating. It reminds me why I started this journey and pushes me to keep creating pieces that bring joy to other families.
