Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Karina Rivera
Hi Ana Karina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
sure! I am a movement instructor, meditation guide, and academically trained as designer. There is not one title that has stuck with me completely, as there are different things I do and feel passionate about. I have recently arrived to: a “flow” artist – which is what I consider, creating and operating from a point of attraction. Whatever calls to me is where my attention goes.
I like to say that I am in the business of people and beauty. Making things beautiful, connecting, and learning people, which has naturally led me to my work: helping other’s tap into their inner landscapes. I do this through meditation and movement classes and design.
I always had an artistic inclination, writing letters even from an early age. drawing, sketching and creating with my hands so it was natural for me to go to design school. I studied architecture which then led me to interior design and branding. On the other hand, I have always been interested in people, relationship dynamics, human connection and psychology.
My purpose & passion is merging creativity and mindfulness.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road. Many times I felt like I was in this journey that nobody could understand. I had someone tell me once “why dont you stick to one thing, you are always doing so many things” and I remember feeling bad about it. But now as I have evolved, i recognize that is my super power. Trying new things and pivoting, and taking the road less traveled. It can be scary but I think it is about trusting yourself and taking each moment and staying present with it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a yoga/ pilates instructor and meditation guide. I am also freelance designer. I am most proud of my baby “theartofbeing” which is an online community where I have merged my love for well being, design and creativity. I also have a newsletter where I share tips and tricks about just being and existing. I write about things I feel could my friends and readers insight and help them curious about their own journey to mindfulness but also stay inspired.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
My love for connection and making a safe space for others.
