Hi Andrea, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I began my career with a deep passion for the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries, gaining over 15 years of experience in communications, corporate reputation, marketing, and sales. I had the opportunity to work with renowned brands like Azamara Cruises, Spirit Airlines, and Diageo, where I developed strategies to elevate brand awareness, strengthen reputations, and foster partnerships between companies, ports, and destinations.
In 2024, I founded The Tourism Lab to bridge the gap between industry players and promote sustainable tourism through impactful collaborations. My focus has always been on authentic destination storytelling and giving back to local communities. This commitment drives my work and volunteer efforts supporting women, youth, and industry professionals.
I hold an MBA, a BBA in Marketing, and a BBA in International Business. Beyond my professional work, I’m a certified travel advisor and enjoy writing for cruise, travel, and culinary publications, as well as curating travel experiences for others. My journey is fueled by a passion for connecting people, building relationships, and creating strategies that inspire growth and positive change in the tourism industry

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey has been incredibly rewarding, but like any meaningful path, it hasn’t always been smooth. Building The Tourism Lab has been a continuous learning experience—both professionally and personally. Transitioning into the role of a business owner and entrepreneur has taught me so much about resilience, adaptability, and the importance of trusting the process.
One of the most significant challenges has been navigating the many roles required to grow a business while also developing my leadership skills as a manager. Balancing strategy, operations, and creative vision can be demanding, but it has pushed me to grow in ways I never imagined.
I’m incredibly grateful for the wonderful people who have supported me along the way and the amazing talent I’ve been able to bring onto the team. Their dedication, creativity, and belief in our mission have been the driving force behind our progress. Every challenge has been an opportunity to learn, and I’m thankful for the growth that has come from those experiences.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Miami has always been home for me, and it’s been incredible to witness its evolution into the dynamic, global city it is today. The growth of the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries here has been inspiring—Miami is truly living up to its full potential as a world-class destination. The city’s energy, culture, and creativity make it an exciting place to live and work, especially in an industry so deeply connected to experiences and people.
What I love most about Miami is its vibrant diversity. While it’s long been known for its strong Hispanic influence, it’s becoming even more diverse as people from all over the world choose Miami as their new home. This cultural blend brings fresh perspectives, innovation, and opportunities, enriching the city’s character and driving its growth.
