Rising Stars: Meet Christina Montesano-evans of West Palm Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Montesano-evans

Hi Christina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my career in 2002 (20+ years ago!) and I come from a family of beauty industry professionals, so it’s quite literally in my blood. I am licensed in the state of NY and Florida and although I have worn many hats throughout my career, my true passion is bridal hair and makeup. I started my career in makeup at the age of 19 and have done countless weddings and special events, NYFW in 2017, as well as having some high profile/celebrity clientele. In September of 2021, my husband and I moved down to West Palm Beach and just 2 years after, CME Beauty was born.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Is growth ever smooth? LOL. Becoming my own boss was not something I had ever expected or planned. So I’d say leaving the salon industry was a huge adjustment. Learning the ins and outs of business aside of the actual hair & makeup part is a LOT but when you’re working for yourself and your own brand it’s a different feeling. It’s definitely still work- but 100% of that effort is for you. Not someone else.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a bridal hair & makeup artist that specializes in clean, natural looks for the minimalist bride. I’m a dual artist- so I do both hair & makeup and like to work on my Brides from beginning to end. I love smaller, intimate parties and elopement brides, since I was one too.

I’d say im definitely most proud of how far i’ve come in less than 2 years in regards to my brand. Becoming a business owner has been a game changer.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I have a dream of having a little farm & garden. Before I got into beauty- I wanted to become a vet but I couldn’t handle the sight of blood.
