Life & Work with Isaac-David Miranda of Midtown/Aventura/Las Olas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaac-David Miranda

Hi Isaac-David, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name full name is Isaac-David Miranda, I go by Isaac. I was born and raised in Norwalk, Connecticut I started my fitness journey in 2015 after losing my best friend to a drug overdose and my house burning down two months later. I met a girl who introduced me to Soul Cycle and I fell in love with the workout and community. I was a committed rider for 2 years before deciding fitness is what I wanted to do full time, and to be a Soul Cycle instructor to be more specific. I continued to take class for 2 more years while I kept trying to become an instructor that ended up not happening. It lead me to randomly apply to about 20+ boutique fitness studios. After not hearing back from anyone with my zero fitness background, [solidcore] reached out to me for an audition. I passed the audition and almost 5 years later I’m a Senior Master Coach.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been the exact opposite of smooth. When I became a coach in February of 2020, we were shut down because of covid just a few months later. When we re-opened in June/July I had been going through an on and off again 6 year relationship that was finally coming to an end. It lead me to impulsively move to Miami, where I knew no one and had no family.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a senior master coach at [solidcore] and [solidcore] is a high-intensity, low-impact full-body workout on a pilates-inspired reformer. Our core workout utilizes slow and controlled movements scientifically designed to break down muscles to failure so they build back stronger. I would say I’m known for my passion and my music. I’m a [solidcore] coach by day and a DJ by night. I would say I’m most proud of the community I’ve built along the years of being year and making my stamp by curating each playlist myself at home using my DJ controller.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up was tough, personality wise I would I say I was a smart *ss, know it all. I grew up too fast. I moved out of my Mom’s house at 15. She was a single parent and I ended up moving in with my grandparents. Being in high school as a teen where I didn’t have much supervision you can only imagine the trouble I’d get into. By 18 I was kicked out and couch surfing until I finally decided to make the changes I needed to be a better person.
