Daily Inspiration: Meet Isabel Pares

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabel Pares

Hi Isabel , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Wad was born in Venezuela when my husband (Rafael Herrera) and I (Isabel Pares) got married. As architects—he with experience in carpentry and I with my creative side—we started this company that consists in fabricating custom woodwork. Years later, like many families in this country, we had to emigrate and start over.

We started the company with only the two of us in a garage and today we are 15 people dedicating all of our knowledge and pasion on creating amazing designs and building unique homes. WAD is a family business, consisting of my father, my sister, and others, forming a great team dedicated to serving other families to create amazing designs.

That’s why we always say: there’s no better team than your family!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been many obstacles, starting with migrating to another country, the language barrier, the conversion of metric measurements, and regulations, among others. We have fallen, but with the same determination, we have gotten back up and fought every day to become who we are today: a reliable and serious company with the goal of meeting and exceeding our client’s expectations. A home in a unique space, and we are grateful for every opportunity we are given to transform spaces and lives.”

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am proud to be able to do what I love and even make that dream come true in another country for me is everything. Also being able to offer jobs to my family and work every day with them is a blessing. I love design, I enjoy creating new spaces and ideas. a new space is like a new opportunity to become better every day.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Growing is not easy and comes with many challenges. I want to be able to create a furniture line where many people identify with the style and design and on top of that provide affordable prices because everybody deserves to live in their dream home.
