Hi Linda , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Linda King – a seasoned traveller, an author, travel writer and travel blogger and founder of The Smart Travelista.
As a former travel agent and banker, I have a wealth of experience in travel and money management. The Smart Travelista brand is about travelling smarter and saving money.
My travel journey started as a child. We travelled often as a family and one life changing trip was a four month road trip travelling around Australia. This trip opened my eyes to the world and I have travelled ever since!
I’ve travelled to 35 countries and counting.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The pandemic put a stop to my travelling like other travellers. But with every setback there is a silver lining. I had more down time to concentrate on writing and building the Smart Travelista brand which I’m now seeing results from.

I’m a creative – a life long writer. I’m the author of 10 travel books – 7 in the Smart Travelista series and 3 in the Antics from Abroad series all available on Amazon.
The Smart Travelista book series is a collection of travel guides to help travellers travel smarter and save money.
The Antics from Abroad book series is a collection of entertaining travel stories where anything that could go wrong does! Because we all like a bit of drama, right?
What sets me apart from others is that I’m a travel expert with tried and true hacks that work. I’ve travelled the world and continue to travel regularly. I share travel insights and insider tips with others so they can save money and travel more.
