Daily Inspiration: Meet Dilara Acar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dilara Acar

Hi Dilara, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I always knew I wanted to influence the world through my art. Growing up I danced ballet for 10 years and I’ve always had a love for drawing and dressing up. Born in Portland Oregon, art always surrounded me. Once I discovered the VSFS I was burned with a passion and realization that this is what I wanted to be, a supermodel. It wasn’t until I moved to Florida where I realized I could make a modeling career my reality. I signed in 2018 to my amazing mother agent Christine at Premiere Model Management who quickly got me a contract in Miami with Wilhelmina. They developed me into an established model and I’ve remained signed with them ever since!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Modeling has always come with its own uncertainties, it’s a unique field. At times you can go weeks without work, or even if you are working everyday you won’t see payment for 30-90 days. My agency has a motto “stay ready so you don’t have to get ready” so that we are always prepared for any opportunities since a lot of jobs can be presented last minute.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work lets me be a chameleon. I’ve worked for high fashion elegant designers as well as the relatable modern girl in denim, a cowgirl in a costume store, glam on the beach, a competing athlete, and prom or quince in my mid 20’s. There is fluidity in modeling. My biggest passion is runway. Ive walked for reputable brands such as Dolce and Gabbana, Balmain, Saks 5th Avenue, L’agance and countless others. I believe that my dance and performance history plays into why I love the movement of fashion shows, being on stage, backstage and all the chaos in between. I am good at what I do but more importantly I love it. I am engulfed by the beauty and passions of working with creatives in this industry, making connections that last a lifetime.

How do you think about happiness?
Happiness to me is internal. I know that having a positive mindset will attract positivity into each experience. Having faith that God puts you where you are for a reason and that you are fulfilling your purpose. My faith runs so deep that I know whatever plan is written for me is divinely guided and I trust the process. When I was young I survived cancer. To me life is precious and uncertain. I live everyday not taking anything for granted. Remaining thankful for my opportunities and hoping to inspire others along the way.
