Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Nunez.
Diana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Diana Nunez. I was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, and later moved to Florida. I got to study at Florida Atlantic University where I earned my degree in Marketing and Advertising. After graduating, I gained valuable experience working at several marketing agencies.
At 24, I faced a major turning point when I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and my life shifted completely. I embraced a healthier lifestyle, focusing on nutrition, mindset, and purpose. I knew I wanted to dedicate my energy to something I loved—something that could inspire others on their journeys. That’s how OMA EM was born.
Creating a swimwear brand wasn’t just about making beautiful, eco-friendly designs; it was about building something meaningful. With every style I design, my goal is to make women feel comfortable—yet, above all, to feel deeply loved and supported by themselves. Each swimsuit in my collection carries the name of a woman who represents resilience, kindness, love, and empowerment. I wanted each piece to honor women who have made an impact, whether by inspiring others, fighting for causes, or simply navigating their own challenging paths with strength and grace.
When it came to bringing this vision to life sustainably, I made sure every decision aligned with my eco-friendly values. Through extensive research, I found a manufacturer who shares my commitment to sustainability, using eco-conscious materials and a zero-waste process. With OMA EM, I strive to create a brand that is environmentally responsible from production to customer delivery. My hope is that every woman who wears OMA EM feels the spirit of empowerment and self-love that inspired each design.”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a business is never easy, and OMA EM has certainly come with its own set of challenges. One of the biggest struggles has been managing multiple roles at once—balancing a full-time job, a part-time role, and my own business. At times, the workload has been overwhelming, but with every small achievement, I feel a renewed sense of accomplishment. Each step, no matter how small, is a reminder that the hard work is worth it. The challenges make the journey even more rewarding and keep me motivated to keep pushing forward.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I currently hold a full-time role at a marketing agency, where I specialize in advertising and work in the production department. I help produce ad spots across various platforms, including TV, banners, CTV, and more. I’m deeply involved in the process of bringing creative ideas to life, and I enjoy the fast-paced, collaborative nature of production.
However, I’m especially proud of my startup, OMA EM. Building this brand has been a true passion project, allowing me to blend my love for creativity, eco-conscious fashion, and women’s empowerment. What sets me apart from others is my dedication to everything I work on. Whether it’s my full-time role, part-time projects, or OMA EM, I approach each with optimism and commitment. I truly believe that bringing positivity and persistence to everything I do not only keeps me motivated but also inspires those around me.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about Palm Beach, Florida, is its spaciousness and diversity. The city has a unique blend of people from all backgrounds, which creates a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. People here are genuinely kind, and the community feels connected, which is something I value deeply.
If I had to choose something I like least, it would probably be the seasonal traffic during the peak months. The influx of visitors can make certain areas crowded, but overall, it’s a small trade-off for living in such a beautiful, diverse place just like Miami.
