Conversations with Lance O

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lance O

Hi Lance, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story started as I was going off to college. Mom said to do something you love because if you live in this country you are going to have to work so might as well do something you like. So I went into music and more specifically radio and it opened alot of doors for me. I started while in college by opening up a college radio station. So then I became a Dj. That gave me basis to build a foundation in the music business. Radio helped me alot. In 1996 I opened my own business and we are still doing it under the same name What helped us along the way was being keen on what the demands of our audience & clients. Adapting to the landscape has helped us maintain a presence in our field.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s only smooth for short periods of time. The struggles make you stronger. They make you dig deep. They get you out of your comfort zone. You have to get creative.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My main thing is being a DJ. We specialize in reggae and all popular forms of Caribbean muzik. I am known for being a great MC/host. I am most proud of still being in business doing what I love. My knowledge, understanding of the many Caribbean cultures and speaking the dialect of the many different islands sets me apart because I can relate to them or connect better than most.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
The diversity of cultures that we have embraced fully. TRAFFIC
