Today we’d like to introduce you to Valeriia Krepel
Hi Valeriia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story began with a cherished dream — to bring beauty to people. In 2016, I made this dream a reality by opening my own beauty salon. Every day, each brushstroke or precise line of a brow was a step on my journey toward perfection. I wasn’t just walking the path; I was dancing along it, participating in makeup and brow competitions, developing myself, and refining my talent.
Then fate brought me to America — the land of opportunity and new horizons. Here, I found a new home and felt deeply inspired by this place. I decided to represent America on the world stage, making it my goal to win. This is my way of expressing gratitude to this remarkable country for its hospitality, to give it a piece of my soul, and to bring it honor in the beauty industry. I believe that through my passion and pursuit of excellence, I can make the world brighter and help this country shine even more in the eyes of others.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I had the opportunity to represent America at the OMCHairWorld 2024 World Championship, which is held once a year and gathers teams from over 50 countries around the world. Talented and strong beauty professionals come together to showcase their skills and represent their nations on the global stage.
Together with my mentor and trainer, Liudmyla Krotova, who leads the American aesthetic team, I, as a member of the American Cosmetology Association and the American team, traveled to Paris to participate in this prestigious event. I proudly represented America in two categories.
In the Eyebrow Shaping & Tinting category, I earned first place, a gold medal, and the title of World Champion. Despite my nerves, I managed to set aside all doubts and focus entirely on my craft. I put all my experience and talent into the work, refined over years with clients, first in Kyiv, and later with countless training sessions in Miami with my trainer. This dedication paid off. Judges from different countries highly praised my work at the championship, and this victory became a well-deserved reward for years of hard work.
Additionally, I took third place, winning the bronze medal in the Smoky Eyes category. Even here, inner doubts did not prevent me from focusing and executing my work perfectly. I was genuinely thrilled with this well-earned third place, knowing it represented the realization of a long-held dream.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Valeria Krepel is a name that has already earned respect and admiration in the world of aesthetics and makeup artistry. Not only is she a world champion in the Eyebrow Shaping & Tinting category, but she also won a bronze medal in the Smoky Eyes category at the prestigious OMCHairWorld 2024 competition in Paris. However, these titles are just the tip of the iceberg in her professional journey, as they represent years of training, hard work, and continuous improvement.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see my near future in actively developing and promoting myself as a professional in the United States. I plan to expand my knowledge and improve my qualifications, participating in global competitions to further strengthen my status in the beauty industry. Working under the guidance of Liudmyla Krotova provides unique opportunities for growth and achieving new heights. I’ll continue honing my skills, especially in brow shaping and makeup, to offer clients the highest level of service.
As for the industry, I see it becoming increasingly professional and science-driven. Modern clients value a personalized approach and impeccable quality, so it’s essential for specialists not only to master techniques but also to keep learning to meet high expectations. The U.S. is already becoming a major hub for cosmetology and aesthetics, and I’m confident our industry will continue evolving through brand collaborations and active participation in international events.
One of the main and significant aspects I want to focus my energy on, as part of my journey in the United States, is charitable work. I believe we have a responsibility to society, and I want to use my resources and skills to support those in need. I plan to organize charity events, including those aimed at helping people with disabilities and those going through difficult life situations. For me, it’s important not only to create beauty on the outside but also to help people feel confident and harmonious within.
In my plans, I aim to use my knowledge and skills to hold charitable events, workshops, and gatherings where I can support people, especially those who, for various reasons, have lost confidence in themselves. I genuinely believe that proper self-care and the ability to feel beautiful have immense power to transform how a person views themselves.
