Today we’d like to introduce you to Russell 2.0
Hi Russell, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I played AAU basketball and at age sixteen, during a game, in Chicago Illinois, I was guarding the singer, R. Kelly, twenty four hours later we had co-wrote the song titled; I believe I can fly, which won three Grammy awards. That was how I began my career in the music industry.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, as with anything, it takes hard work, not accepting no for an answer and having the desire to be successful. At the same time, persistence works and although any career will have it’s challenges, I believe all people have special gifts that will allow them to enjoy success at what they pursue in life.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a musical artist who composes and produces my own original songs. I’m probably best know for writing songs and I’m proud of helping others. What sets me apart? I prefer to stay humble on this question. The entertainment business has questionable ethics and practices however, I’m very proud to have accomplished my success without comprising my moral compass.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
If you want something done, do it yourself. A mentor or life coach, so to speak, is nice to have but an individual cannot depend on someone else to accomplish a goal. One must do so themselves. Believe and invest in yourself, the results will come.
